Like in that first article (which I strongly recommend against reading, it’s so gross), their source says, “He started making her travel with him, and she started distancing herself from her lesbian friends.” 

This statement is NOT presented as a clear indicator of a controlling and abusive relationship, but rather as evidence of how fed-up Depp had become with Amber over her being close to a lesbian. 

Like… if you don’t trust your partner, go to couples counseling or end the relationship. Forcing your partner to travel with you because you don’t trust them to be around a friend is an ABUSE TACTIC. But the article is using it to victim-blame, like how dare this bi woman be friends with a lesbian while she’s married, the absolute nerve of her.
