A week ago I turned 27 Such a daunting number for some reason, I don't think I've ever felt the immense amount of love I've felt this past week though. Saturday I went to go watch @onerepublic w. Bianca & Jeandré , will definitely share more of that AMAZING night! Sunday I had my birthday brunch with the WHOLE FAM! It was wholesome to say the least. I got tickets to @imaginedragons and @whoisjeandre got us tickets to @rksbandofficial , WHAAAT? Jeandré and I then went to go eat wings at our favourite restaurant at Texan wing bar, Monte Casino Monday I met @biancablanc to get a matching tattoo that I'm OBSESSED with. That night I had a lovely morrocon dinner with a close friend @emma Tuesday was MY ACTUAL BDAY and my bestie Annandi met me at the park with her doggos, drinking rosé 😍 after, Carli came to my house for a champagne lunch (without the lunch) and after that, my close friends joined me at my favourite restaurant Crawdaddy's, Brooklyn. Wednesday I had a huge birthday bash at @BarAcoustics & I had the privilege of having some of my FAVE local musos perform. @bradleybath , @harmonicflow & @thestingingrogers Thursday was Open Mic Night at Railways Cafe and I had another party with some of me and Jeandrés closest friends and chosen family. Friday I had the privilege to play a gig for the first time at Pashash, and for the first time as a 27 year old. It was a gorgeous night & my mom invited ALL their friends! My mom has been my biggest supporter and rock in this time, also spoiling me rotten with so many gifts and helping wherever she can. Thank you ♡ Saturday we had a little day braai with my longest and closest friends, all while we'reI appreciate and love you guys to bits. Sunday was the BIG DAY. My music school had it's year-end Showcase. The stress that went into this event is crazy. It's my 4'th year doing it and this year was the most successful! Thank you @c_motiv , @Rohan for sound & Jeandré for stage hand! My shoulders are lighter, my heart is full and I am tired to say the least lol! I recieved so many gifts too (I like that love language lol) amongst MANY were Songwriting books. Tonight is my first show as a 27 year old. What am I even saying? How did I jump from 17 to 27? So wack... I'm tired, haha! This week = 1 Nicola = 0 I'm not planning on slowing down though... This year I've been working hard to build myself up & prove myself. I'm not nearly where I want to be. Can't wait for the journey ahead though. I'm so stoked that I could be part of such a rad song with @headfury & that it's doing well on the charts, so proud lads! This Sunday is also my music school's 4'th year-end Showcase, & I'm really proud of myself for this one. It's so much work, but the self-reward is immense! All my friends around me are also growing and I'm awe to say the least. I'm so impressed with the moves we're making and the and the platform our generation is creating. From @baracoustics to @vocals_by_nicola to @_independent_pets , I just see growth. So much to come and as you all know, I'm always excited to share! Here's to 27. Let's goooo!
