Here's an evolution of my Bendy's design. He basically is the classic Ink Demon design but "toon-ified", and has gone through several changes over the years, and has a bit of a backstory for his development.
How was he conceived to begin with?
He actually initially started out as a tentative idea of Henry having been turned into a toon (one of the many theories circulating back in the early days of BatIM), and I intended him to be like a heroic counterpart to the Ink Demon, the same way you had Allison and Tom to Susie and Brute Buddy Boris.

What's with the weird hair?
The hair that's seen on his face was initially intended to mimic the Ink Demon's iconic ink-covered face. However, I quickly grew to dislike the rather "emo" look he had, and after several redesigns, it eventually evolved into a simple artifact left for nothing more than stylish reasons. (Most people seem to like it though.)
Weirdly enough, the hairstyle seems to have ended up loosely looking similar to Henry's own hairstyle when his model was eventually officially revealed in BatDR....

What happened to this original concept and what is his story now?
His original concept of "Henry Bendy" was short-lived and eventually abandoned in favor of something else entirely: a speculation on how the in-universe Bendy toon franchise would have evolved throughout the years to modern times, hence my "modernized" redesigns of several characters. Since it's implied even canonically that the cartoons are being continued even after Joey Drew's death (and also the fact we haven't seen much media regarding the cartoons, with Nathan Arch himself stating he wishes to continue "the legacy of Bendy"), I felt this was a more fun direction to take with my Bendy and his universe.

Does your current direction and speculations follow canon lore?
I like to keep faithful to the canon lore, both what goes on in the studio and in the in-universe franchise's media (like the comics), and also I like to take inspiration from real-life animation history as well (Walt Disney is a major inspiration), figuring out how the beloved franchise may evolve into modern times.
Weirdly enough though, several decisions I would make on his design would end up being "accidental predictions" of things in the canon games, such as Bendy having two forms, and an orange bowtie, both seen in BatDR later on.

I've been through a lot in real-life in the past few months, so I have not been able to draw any more of this project, or "AU", if you will...
Is there anything else I may have missed? What else would you want to see of this boy and his universe? Please let me know.
Today marks the 27th anniversary of when the most amazing man, Robert Morning Sky, performed an honoring on the top of Egypt's Great Pyramid, on May 10th 1999.
I miss you terribly, Dad. I hope you continue to dance… 💔
Jesus, I've exceeded 50 followers and hit hundreds of likes on a few Bendy-related posts on my Twitter and it's...a little flustering to say the least.
I legit wasn't expecting to have this much feedback.
For anyone who has been following Robert Morning Sky, these are his only videos on his Youtube that is left for the public. His web site appears to have gone defunct as well.
It is sad to see that he will not be able to share anything new and wonderful to the world anymore...
Personally created videos from Robert Morning Sky
I wish for his memory to live on, and hope his legacy can continue beyond this world.
