“Of course. Your opinion of me is the most stereotypical version that anyone could formulate.” Boring. She was so damned exhausted by the little pouty rich girl trope; Renee knew there was so much more to her. “You don’t know me.”

❝ ANOTHER MUFFLED LAUGH. she was getting reactions from him, and he was getting exhausted. “ is there anything ever to know? other than yet another stereotypical ‘rich spoiled girl is bored and tries to find herself’ kind of story line? ” he shook his head. “ don’t care to find out. ”

“Aw, you’re so cute.” Renee piped up mockingly with a roll of her eyes. She lived off of attention and those who wouldn’t provide it to her were immediately on her bad list. “Do you think it’s still cool to walk around like the world is your burden? It’s 2017– Get over yourself.”

❝ ROBBIE DIDN’T GET offended much at what people talked about him. he had heard a variation of things -- ranging from strangers in the streets, to his own family at a place he was once supposed to call home. it wasn’t a girl -- a spoiled one, who thought the world they lived in was nothing but a playground to her pleasures. he didn’t turn, “ what do you know of the world other than to cry and have your little brother and father to tend to your whims? ” he shrugged “ nothing. it’s 2017, renee, get over yourself .”

“Obviously. I haven’t gotten what I wanted yet.” Renee replied as she leaned against the wall, eyeing Robbie as one would art in a museum – scrutinizing. It was simply her way.

❝ HE NODDED ONCE, twice, shrugging in the process. “ i give you total support in your pursuit. ” he turned, then, directing his attention back to the punching bag. “ away from here. ”

“Do you think I’d be here because I like to waste my time?” Renee shot back, eyebrow raising as she looked at Robbie. She didn’t talk to him much, but her usual tone was slow and condescending as it was with everyone else.

❝ HE LET OUT a small laugh, he was used to that tone -- he found it amusing how people believed it would affect him somehow. “ yet, you’re still here. ” his voice, on the contrary, was even, not expressing any kind of emotion.

“I was looking for one of your dealers.” Renee retorted with a scrunch of her nose. She didn’t like for her time to be wasted. “He told me to meet him at The Loft, so here I am.”

❝ HE CONTINUED TO flex his muscles after he proceeding her words. he knew renee, like he knew most people -- so he also knew she didn’t represent any threat, other than maybe go cry to her daddy. “ does here look like a place a dealer would be? ”

❝ HE FINISHED WRAPPING his knuckles -- tightly, precisely. people knew where to find him when everything because too much, when he needed to just let it go -- so, surrounded by the punching bags and the fighting mat. he rolled his neck, trying to get ready,  before his back tensed as he felt someone watching him. “ can i help you? ”

“You’re a life saver.” Maggie murmured, willingly accepting the mug of coffee. It didn’t cross her mind that it perhaps wasn’t initially for her. All she could focus on at the moment was her pounding headache. It felt like a hangover, even if she had done nothing but drugs.

“I didn’t.” She admitted with a bitter smirk. “And knowing you, I’m guessing you didn’t either.”

❝ HE WAS STILL nodding in agreement, trying to focus his mind in anything else that wasn’t how she wasn’t supposed to be like that -- but robbie knew better than to snoop around where he wasn’t invited.  

“ but i don’t enjoy parties, usually. ” most people like to whisper behind his back ( or say it to his face, if they are feeling bold ) how he wasn’t built like a proper human, he was used by now. “ you used to. ”

“That…would be brilliant, actually.” Maggie muttered, frowning as she glanced up at him. Her head was set to pound painfully at any moment and she wanted to hinder that horrendous aftermath of a crash. “Thanks, Robs.”

❝ ROBBIE SIMPLY NODDED, not enthusiastically, but just enough to show acknowledgement. he handed her his own mug, burying hands deep in his pockets now that they were empty. it would be stupid to ask how she was feeling, it was right there in her face. “ did you enjoy yourself last night ? ”

❝ HE APPROACHED QUIETLY, as the usual. coffee mug in one hand, stern face -- worried, even though his body language didn’t tell. leaning against the door frame, he motioned, showing the cup. “ do you want some? ”

Grace pushed her way out of the dance floor, needing to rest her legs when she noticed Robbie looking like he needed a good nap. “You seem just as excited as me!” She laughed. There was apart of her that wanted Robbie to let loose and have some fun, but the other part of her wanted to send him home. But he didn’t get to go home unless she could.

❝ HE SIGHED DEEPLY. grace had always been an oasis amidst the chaos that was their lives -- always the safest place. he was thankful for her presence alone. “ i am having a lot of fun. ” it was ironic how devoid of fun his voice was -- more than the usual -- denoting how much the opposite he was actually feeling. “ but you were putting on a show out there, impressive. ”

Tyler still sat next to Robbie, his eyes zeroing in on Opal and whoever her dance partner was now. “Least tell me what you’re drinking. You look damn calm and that’s something I want to be right now.”

❝ ROBBIE SLOWLY DIRECTED his glance to tyler, who conveniently sat beside him and now had his eyes glued on opal. he sighed, deeply, considering all kind of answers he could come up with. ( on how the burn of the alcohol didn’t even affect him anymore, how he was never calm, but also how nobody would ever understand that. ) “ if you think i am stopping you, you better think again. ”

❝ FROM HIS SEAT and a small disapproving tone in his features ( not that it would be noticed by most )  robbie watched the party develop. as soon as he walked in, he touched his guns in reassurance, checked the nearest exit, planned the quickest way out, and then, settled with his glass of vodca. “ i am comfortable here, thanks.” he mumbled in response to something he couldn’t quite figure out due the loud music, eyes never leaving the dance floor.

Maggie raised an eyebrow as she took a curious look over the blueprints. She couldn’t be sure what she was looking at, but the aspects of the Lost Boys’ jobs always intrigued her.

“Feels like I’m in the middle of a bank heist movie.”

❝ HE CLICKED HIS in half disapproval and half amusement. " those movies are really nothing like what a real bank heist is. " he shook his head, looking over at the papers again. " first of all, there's no thrilling music when we are crawling over the roof. it's pretty boring. "

         Robert could come across as robotic, if one had to find a term to describe him, but that just made him a fitting friend for John – and probably the perfect soldier in times of need, since he was always ready to kill or to die for him.

❝I know you know I know,❞ he agreed and found his own words hilarious. Noticing the other take a much more relaxed stance, he assumer Robbie did as well. ❝I will go through that later. I’m honestly tired of looking at papers.❞

❝ HIS REACTION RESUMED in a small laugh escaping his lips and a roll of eyes -- joh was always percieved as smart, above others, pretentious; but for robbie he was a good friend. ( maybe, his only friend. )

" i always forget of your so busy self. " he gathered the paper, slowly folding thm before piling them on the side, asymmetrically perfect. " don't come later ask me for a way out. "

“I could have– But one, I shouldn’t be near alcohol. And two, you’re perfectly capable of using those legs of yours to grab your own.” Maggie shot back with a raised eyebrow, leaning over to inspect the blueprints. “Whatcha up to?

❝ A SMILE TUGGED on his lips, trying to make them give into a bigger reaction.  “ i’m growing too hopeful on your good side, i believe. ” robbie shook his head, pulling the blueprints closer so maggie could take a better look -- “ memorizing. it’s done, already, though. ”

         ❝What else, Noble? A flute of champagne? Feel free to ask for anything,❞ John was one of the rare ones that could get away with those words in front of the deadly Robbie – not that he expected a big smile to appear on his face, or any other sign of emotion for that matter, but he still knew somehow when the other would find it humorous.

❝I assume you are done with this,❞ he motioned at the blueprints on the table.

❝ AND JUST LIKE that, john darling was able to summon a small reaction from the hitman -- one enough to tell that it meant something. for his standards, it showed a lot. “ well, since you’re offering, i will accept. ” he leaned back, intertwined fingers coming to rest on the nape of his neck. “ but you know i prefer vodka. with some ice. ” 

but despite all the humorous tone of their conversation, robbie’s eyes fell upon the papers scattered in front of him “ i am. do you want to take a look ? ”

❝ HE SAT BY the table, eyes slowly scanning blueprints that were of useless matter for him after the first two minutes looking at them -- he had memorized it already, to never forget. it was his own curse, damnated to never forget and to always be haunted by it. he heard footsteps and did not move, relying in his odd senses, knowing them by the wigh of their bodies as they moved. " you could've brought me a beer." he spoke in a low, unchanged tone, even though he really wanted a beer.
