Something I want everyone to know about Tian is that they’re just as much of an idiot as Mk and just as impulsive. Tian pretends to be smart, they just have the slightest bit more common sense, not smarts.

Hey I just read your story The second star after finding it on AO3 and I really enjoyed it. I loved how Tian being found by Tang mirrored MK’s past and made their sibling bond feel so genuine. I’m so sorry it took me so long to reply I’ve been debating on whether you’re a bot or not (if you’re a real person I’m so sorry I’ve just been dealing with like SOO many bots behind the scenes and it’s driving me crazy) I’m still not exactly sure but the question is still interesting enough to answer.

If you are real (Which I really hope you are) I’m so glad you liked Mk and Tian’s bond, I somewhat based it on an idealistic version of me and both of my brothers relationship. I’m also glad you caught the parallels between Mk and Tian (even if it was very in your face)

But where Tian’s character comes from is honestly a bit complicated. Originally it started a year ago when I was thinking about a story where Mk had a twin that was separated from him and kinda had their own versions of the gang, it kinda went like this, Mk=Tian, Mei= Jin and Yin, Tang=Scorpion Queen, Pigsy=Spider Queen, I never decided who Sandy’s equivalent would be, Wukong=Macaque. Like a swap AU or something.

I obviously scrapped that idea and for a while it was just “What if Mk had a twin?” Until I decided to change that to little sister and Tian evolved from there :)

I just finished reading The second star and I really enjoyed how you balanced the fun moments with the darker emotional parts of the chapter. Tian’s powers developing felt exciting and well thought out, and I loved the bond between Tian and Mk throughout the story. The tension during the Spider Queen scene was gripping and the way you showed Tian’s determination to protect others was really touching. Can’t wait to see what happens next!

Hi Rosabell here and I just read your fic "The second star"The sibling dynamic between MK and Tian feels so warm and believable and Tian's shadow powers tied to their emotions and desires feel like such a natural extension of the LMK universe's magic system. That moment of injury was genuinely tense. Will Tian's fear of being left behind by MK's heroics push them to become more independent? Or will it make them cling harder to their brother's side even when it's dangerous?

Tysm!! I’ve been working really hard on this and I’m glad to see someone taking an interest! Mk and Tian’s relationship as siblings has been an absolute joy to write! And with the powers I’m really glad they came off as believable because I was sort of winging it in that regard. I’m also planning on trying to convey Tian being a clingy and willing to follow Mk into anything (even if they know better) but eventually something will happen to make them be independent :>

I feel like talking about my LMK AU that kinda focuses on my little baby (my teenage OC) who is Mk’s younger sister. In my head I’ve assigned each member of the Monkey fam a fruit so I’m just gonna list what it is.

Wukong: Peaches (obviously)

Macaque: Plums! I see people also associate him with Mangos but I chose plums bc I thought they fit better

Mk: Apricots, they look like mini versions of peaches and I think that fits very well with how people often compare Wukong and Mk.

Qi Tianxiu/Tian: Nectarines, I chose these because they look similar to peaches but clearly aren’t. Plus they look like what I image a peach and plum would look like if you mashed them together.
