It's unfortunate that Rorschach from Watchmen has a reputation for a rancid fanboy fan base, because I truly believe he's one of the characters of all time.

Like. Dude's a sex repulsed misogynist. But his mask is part of a dress that he believes was ordered by Kitty Genovese, and he started as a vigilante after reading about her murder.

He's at least a little homophobic ("must investigate further"), but his uncomfortably long hand hold mirrors Dan's with Laurie. (And also he nor Moore would know this, but Kitty was a lesbian.)

He says he's not going to care if everybody dies but when it actually happens he does. If anything, he protests the hardest even if he knows it'll kill him.

Like. I want to study him like a bug. I want to chew on his characterization like gristle. But so much of his fan base is so rancid that you can't just say that he's your favorite character and it drives me bonkers.
