Praise be to whatever entity you pray to. This is the last day of 2020!!! Goodbye and good riddance. I'm ready to leave this year in the rearview mirror, but I'm also grateful for what it forced me to learn and that it made me value human interaction more than ever. It reminded me what's important and allowed me to get off the hamster wheel I was frantically spinning on and reevaluate where and who I want to be in this world. Missing the joy of watching the guys in @blueoctoberband bring it every night. Also, just missing being side stage in general. Most people think I must love going to concerts because of my job. That's not exactly true. What I love is being side stage, seeing all the crew and techs doing their jobs, seeing the unspoken language between the players between songs, watching the lights reset and the smoke machine click on during the darkness after one song ends and before the next begins. Back in February 2020 I rented a seaplane taxi in Vancouver on a day off. Seemed silly to spend money on at the time, but I was like "there's no way I will regret his", and I did not. I saw the city the only way it should be seen. Flying high over the parks and mountains and seeing every angle you can get. More to come from this series. Happy birthday to this awesome guy! He's my housemate and one of my closest friends. He's also an amazing film composer who has worked on too many great films and shows to list. He asked me last year if I would shoot his new promo shots for the publicity campaign for a series he just finished. I was honored to do so and this is my favorite shot from the series.
