BIOGRAPHY
TRIGGER WARNING: DEATH, MURDER, DRUGS, ABUSE MENTION
Nolan grew up being told that he was nothing and that he'd never be anything. Someone that his father practically ignored, as he blamed him for his mother's death while birthing him. From the age of five, Nolan took care of himself. He learned from an early age that he couldn't rely on anyone but himself. His father turned into a drunk and thankfully, that led him to sleep most of the time.
His business ventures started around the age of ten. He was lucky that his father even remembered to buy food for the house. Nolan quickly understood that not everyone had that luxury. So, he'd hoard snacks and different kinds of drinks and sell them to kids at school. Every now and then, he'd give some of it away for free. Every time he sold something, he had to make sure that the kid wouldn't say anything to the adults in the school. That his "business" would be kept a secret. And sometimes, he had to ensure it himself -- beating up the kids that chose to use their voice against him. It was all part of his dealings. Part of how he kept his business under wraps for so long.
By the age of thirteen, Nolan had slid into the world of drugs and alcohol. It hadn't been hard, as his father had kept a fairly large supply of alcohol at the house. Through this new world he had been welcomed into, he learned that his reality wasn't exactly the one that was true. That humans weren't the only species there was. While this news might have scared some people, it only excited Nolan. The pros, in his mind, easily outweighed the cons.
By the age of sixteen, he had changed his business. He no longer cared to help humans. Instead, he sought out the species that he felt was the strongest. The one that he knew he could keep around the longest and maybe, when the time was right, become one. The vampires. He planned to show them that he could procure what they needed and get the job done. That while yes, he was a human, but he was reliable.
And with his first customer asking for a human who heavily consumes alcohol on a daily basis, Nolan didn't even hesitate when he gave up his own father.
When his business became harder to hide, he decided he needed a cover. Something that would stand in front of the true business he was running, but one that would be profitable, nonetheless. That's when he created his fight club. It was for all species. Not only that, but people could gamble, or even get away with murder in the club with no repercussions. Nolan was always there to clean up the messes. This, and his connections to other vampires, led him to begin working with the Reardon clan. He is extremely happy with what he's accomplished but he's no where done trying to prove to everyone that he is the King of this form of business. That he is the only one that can get shit done discreetly. Even if it means turning against his own species.
HEADCANONS
In his business, Nolan prides himself on being able to provide anything the vampire clan needs. He has even built holding cells for the humans he's taken for the business. Sometimes, he drugs them just to make it easier for himself.
While he runs and is the owner of the fight club, Nolan regularly participates in fights. He finds it invigorating and likes to show that he isn't someone to mess with and that he isn't weak.
Nolan has talked to Kali and Gael about turning him on several occasions. However, it has yet to happen.
There are times, in the past, where Nolan has given his own blood to vampires if they ask. But only if he trusts that they won't kill him.
Nolan likes to portray that he doesn't have a weakness. But since he's human, he has many. He hates what he is and every day gets more irritated by the fact that he hasn't been given the opportunity to change. He hates how fragile his body is. How easy it would be for someone to kill him.
There are times when Nolan can be quite paranoid. This does not help his tendency towards being aggressive and accusatory with others.
Nolan has been in relationships before but he is not (I REPEAT NOT) a good boyfriend. He treats his relationships like it's a business. If he gives, he expects them to give double. If they fuck up, he -- not so gently -- reminds them why they shouldn't disappoint him.
WANTED CONNECTIONS
DIFFERENT PATHS ; As stated in his headcanons, Nolan is not a good boyfriend. He tends to love bomb in all of the right times, but become abusive when mistakes are made. This person was someone that stayed around the longest. Someone that thought they could truly change him and help him. Until they finally realized he is beyond help.
BUSINESS PARTNERS ; Mainly for the Reardon Clan. But, this could also be past dealings as well. He mainly is connected to the vampire clan but he doesn't turn away for people that are desperate. Ones that will make sure doing business with them are worth his time.
ALL GROWN UP ; Someone that's known Nolan since he was a child. Maybe they were friends with his father, or maybe they were a fellow student at the schools he attended.
SLID THROUGH HIS FINGERS ; This person was kidnapped by Nolan but managed to escape the holding cells underneath the fight club. While Nolan is trying to be reasonable and calculated about it, he is still hunting them down.
