NEW HIGH SCORE!
Nice legs daisy dukes dukes makes a man go (Peter whistling during games without frontiers)
Essie followed along, and shrugging, said, āWell it really isnāt much of a big deal. Iāve pretty much been everywhere. We spent some time on the northeast coast of the US. Mostly, though, we travelled Europe. I can speak quite a few languages. Iāve lived in Spain, Portugal, Italy, England, Morocco, and settled for a few years in Paris, specifically. Thatās where I finally was able to go to school with other people my age, and where I was able to bring my talent out for larger, less drunk audiences. Hah⦠I even remember we lived in an RV for a time,ā Essie trailed off as she removed her scarves, revealing her long, wildly wavy and volumized hair. She shook her head. āI just realized Iāve been rambling! Iām so sorry about that. But then again, how can one not ramble when theyāve been rambling on their whole life?ā She said with a chuckle, which turned into a cough, which turned into her trying to clear her throat.
Pavati nodded, listening to essie as she opened her dorm room door. Thankfully her and Rachelle have a small living space otherwise the poor might have woken up. Possibly.Ā āRambling? Oh! I donāt think it is rambling. I was the one that asked about it after allā She smiled a bit,Ā āNow let me get a pot started for the tea. Tell me more. What languages do you know? You said there was quite a few.ā She headed to the small kitchen, finding her tea pot and getting some water into it. Turning on the stove, she placed the pot on top of the burner and turned to face Essie, trying to remember some of her Grandmotherās recipe. She must have brought the journal with the written instructions and put it somewhere in this dorm.Ā
āWell, I spoke a lot of Romanian and English with my family, but I am also fluent in Spanish and French. I know some Italian, a smidge of Portuguese, and a little Arabic,ā Essie recalled. āOh gosh, it feels like a completely different life now. Itās like once I came here, moving around was just a distant memory. And I got over here so quickly! I mean, I always pack light.ā Essie had a smile on her face, remembering village - wide games of hide and seek and dancing in various city squares for a little cash. They were good times, ones sheād always like to remember.
āAh, so what is it that youāre making? Iām so interested, truly. Itās not every day that someone knows how to do this stuff from childhood!ā
āOh, yeah, my family was pretty nomadic growing up, so we had a lot of quick home remedies that I never paid any attention to. If there was an emergency, we usually used something from a store. They were big tea drinkers, too,ā Elsie explained, reminiscing with her strained sick voice.
Pavati nodded,Ā āI can understand that. Where did you guys travel to? If you donāt mind me asking that is.ā Slowly she began heading towards her dorm,Ā āI love tea. It is what I normally drink every morning. Or during the day from time to time.āĀ

āI wish I could properly express how grateful I am right now, oh my god,ā Essie said, following Pavati. āYou really are such a sweet person.ā
āYou are too kindā Pavati smiled, opening the door for Essie,Ā āReally it is no trouble at all. I am just happy to find someone that appreciates remedies that donāt involve chemicals or anything like that.

āOh god, yes, letās go! Itās so cold!ā Essie said, before coughing a bit more.Ā āI feel like thereās sandpaper in my throat.ā She was so relieved that she didnāt have to actually go into a store and interact with a person who would end up judging her. It was the last thing she could have wanted to do.Ā āWhich building are you in, Ms. Pav?ā Essie asked playfully.
Pavati turned and started heading back up towards her dorm.Ā āI have some tea that you can use. Herbal too so you wonāt stay up too laterā She smiled,Ā āWell no later than usual now.ā The dorms came within sight now, and she pointed out her building to Essie,Ā āWell Iām in the Minnie Dorms. First building. Even on the first floor too so you donāt have to worry about stairs, Ms. Essie.ā She gave the girl a playful grin, hurrying towards the building.Ā
"I wish I could properly express how grateful I am right now, oh my god," Essie said, following Pavati. "You really are such a sweet person."
āYou mean, like, holistic medicine? Because any excuse to keep weird chemicals out of my body is a wonderful thing. Iāve tried a few silly home remedies like eating very spicy food and smoking a bowl. I even put mint in there. Nothing. But I do have to say, I donāt know too much about fixing a cold other than spicy food, weed, and chicken soup.ā Essie shook her head at herself. She sounded like a god damn stoner. She was only a stoner sometimes.Ā
āIād love to try your grandmotherās remedies. I know we have a class together, my name is Essie. Iād shake your hand or hug you, but Iād hate to get you sick. Either way, Iām glad I ran into you. The thought of cough syrup right now is⦠Absolutely horrifying.ā
āYesā Pavati smiled, āI am the same way. I donāt like putting weird chemicals into my body. I donāt think it helps at all. But I do have to say that probably being out here in the cold is not helping you much either.ā A small laugh escaped her lips, shaking her head, āThere is a lot of ways to fix a cold. You also need rest on top of those things as well.ā
āI recognize you from class too! My name is Pavati but you are more than welcomed to just call me Pav. And letās just focus on getting you some remedies to feel better. Would you like to head back to my dorm room? That way you can warm up a bit too.ā She laughed again,Ā āI understand the feeling. I hate cough syrup, ever since I was little. Thankfully my grandmother never tried to give me that stuff.āĀ

The GTOāsĀ
((content warning: cannabis))
After a night of recovering from a killer cold, Essie woke up in her bed feeling refreshed; an unusual feeling to get after recovering from a cold, but Pavatiās grandmotherās remedies worked better than the heaviest stuff sheād ever been on. She felt like getting dressed and doing something... She had to study, but Essie wasnāt necessarily the type to sit down and read the same old boring lines over and over. She equipped herself with her phone, earbuds, and a small bag containing some useful items for the day and exited the dorms, moving towards a secluded area on campus. After 2 previous years at DUO, Essie knew where was safe for the planned activities. Today, she was going to make herself enjoy the new feeling of wellness by taking a day to enjoy the world.Ā
Essie felt that the day would only be enhanced by the music she chose, and what better music to enhance life and expand oneās mind to than The Doors? As My Wild Love seduced her through her earphones, she languidly reached into her bag, took out a pack of cigarettes, filled with joints she had rolled a few days before, just in case. She took a sharp turn into what she had so lovingly named āTrippy Haven.ā She took a J from the pack she prepared, lit it, and slid down the brick wall she had been just leaning on. The Ghost Song came next. She unplugged the earbuds, letting the music escape into her atmosphere.Ā
āAwake. Shake dreams from your hair My pretty child, my sweet one. Choose the day and choose the sign of your day The day's divinity First thing you see,ā the manās voice crooned
Despite being sick, Essie couldnāt help but chuckle, which turned again into coughing. She cleared her throat and continued, āI wish I could enjoy it! Iāve got the worldās shittiest cold. I had to put on shoes. I feel restrained!ā She let out a little sigh.Ā āI was just on my way to whatever little convenience store might be open. I need some drugs. Flu drugs.ā
āThat goes around this time of yearā Pavati smiled,Ā āI know some remedies that my Grandmother taught me if you would like to try some.ā Looking down at her own feet, she wiggled her toes that were confined in her shoes and laughed.Ā āI know how you feel about that. I hate wearing shoes but in this weather they are required. Hopefully it is bit warmer tomorrow so I can go out barefoot.āĀ
