Accepting your limitations when you have a chronic illness or disability doesnât mean youâre lazy or pessimistic. Itâs more than ok to acknowledge and respect the fact that there are things you just canât do. Donât listen to anyone who tries to put you down or make you feel guilty for saying ânoâ when you arenât able to do something.Â

âToday is good. Remember how much your friends love you, and if you canât remember, go outside and feel how much the Sun loves you; how it feels to be hugged by the light. Eat some fruit. Drink some water. Buy a candle that smells like cupcakes. Today is good, I promise, and tomorrow might be even better.â

You know what pisses me off?
When someone with a restricted diet asks for a sweet treat, donât help yourself to it (especially w/o asking). If they canât have regular ice cream, then donât eat their italian icee. If someone canât drink coffee, then donât drink their tea. I donât care how much you wanted it, or whatever excuses you have, if someoneâs on a restricted diet, for whatever reason that may be, donât take the one thing they can enjoy. Itâs not fair to them and the response youâll get isnât fair to you.Â
If you were looking forward to something all day and got home to find someone else ate it, youâd be upset, but otherwise find something else. People with strict diets donât get that, when they go home and find the one thing they could eat is gone, thatâs it, they have to go hungry until the next grocery trip. So donât be that self-centered prick and just pretend you donât see that one thing you know is purchased just for the person w/ a sensitive stomach.
YAS. Dont touch my gluten free stuff!!!
Doctors do get things wrong. Thatâs why their advice is called medical opinion, not medical fact.Â
