Dante’s gazed shifted with the other male’s movements, features tugging in distaste at the mention of ‘brother’. Vergil called him that, affectionately, superficially, and spitefully. Anyone else saying that sounded just so wrong.  "Okay, yeah- Cool. Don’t call me that." He murmured, otherwise acknowledging his words. "I don’t remember the war, to be honest. But I’m running with whatever you’re telling me." Not that he trusted Siwon, not quite yet. But everything was as foreign as brand new crevices presented to him when thrown in limbo. "Why didn’t you fight for yourself, then? What’s wrong with that?" He pursed his lips, shifting on his heels as his hands raised to cup the back of his neck.

      [✜]       “Ah, sorry.” He breathed out the words and nervously raised his hand to tug back the few stray strands of hair, rubbing his lips together as he swallowed down his nerves. Never had he thought he would have the opportunity to meet someone as famous as Dante, and here he was breathing the same air as they did.

"I was seven at the time, not all of us are the son of Sparda." He mused with a challenging smirk pulling from his lips, weight shifting from side to side to find a comfortable stance. "I don’t mean anything particularly rude it’s just I wasn’t well trained about my abilities… And well, they taught me." He nodded his head then sunk his hands into his pockets, lightly kicking at the rubble on the ground.

He waved his hand dismissively at the other's quick apology, gaze impassive as he tried not to feel too awkward. But he did, the star spangled look in the other's eyes wasn't new but it hadn't made it anymore comfortable as an itch travelled up his spine. "So you got employed in, and you run what you do, I can live with that." Dante mused, eyes darting to the other's feet before adverting to the building behind them. Not that he had any bit of an opinion at this point. "...Are you going to tell me I have to lead an army next? Please don't, I've over ran my surprise quota for the rest of the year."

      [✜]       “There are definitely more of us.” He stated matter-of-factly, his fingers curling in against the sides of his thighs before he continued. “In fact there are probably hundreds of us scattered around, you just haven’t gone looking, brother.” He chimed with the endearing term, flashing a small smile to them. “My best friend is actually one of us, so yeah, there’s more.”

Chuckling at their words he shook his head then shrugged his shoulders, toying with his fingernails against one another as he stared down at his hands while he spoke. “I jump through the mortal world to this one often. I am a guardian Nephilim. The angels took me during the wars — which I’m sure you remember — and trained me to be like them… So I look after a human being in the mortal world.”

With a firm nod he looked back to the other as he pushed back the stray strands of hair that had fallen over his face, a small sigh leaving him before he thinned his lips together. “It’s a hassle, I’ll admit. I gave up my life to become a slave to a human, but I suppose it’s better than being beaten and not protected by the angels. If anyone tries to kill me, well that can’t happen. I’m not as strong as you are I’m sure but — anyways.”
