Oooops, my hand slipped? Another set of messy wolf man sketches. Yea, had to get it out of my system. Wrinkles are difficult and everything is half-done. Might shade these some other time, or might start over. Probably start over. Need to go do some studies now with proper shading. I’ve pinned so much stuff I will die before going through it all.

Something I actually did a while ago: first "serious" sketch I did, in November. It's Helen Trevelyan, OC from @unhealthynpcobsession  brilliant Mass Effect/Dragon age crossover fanfic “Half-life of Element Zero” (if you don't know about it already, go read it, it’s the bee’s knees ☆(❁‿❁)☆ ). I’m hesitant putting this up, since I'm not entirely happy with it and will definitely revisit Helen in the future, but I did promise myself I'll post *everything*, so here goes nuthin'. Reference used is this image here, from chapter 21, but really, there are so many. SO. MANY. to choose from.

Practice from the last few days. Some more faces, body drawing basics, a quick 5 minute freehand sketch of a nakey bum and trying to colour that Solas tarot I drew a few days back (somehow the background's not working for me though, I think I'll scrap it and start again. Meh.) (ノ°Д°）ノ︵ ┻━┻

Dramatic Varric is dramatic in profile!

Well, this was easier and less painful than I expected. I even had enough enthusiasm left to attempt shading clothing. But that quickly fled when encountering leather. How do you shade that???

Right, I’m reblogging this here because I really like how it turned out. I even added the beard stubble! And the necklace beads! And did the stitching details on his coat as well as decorations on the shirt. (Not to mention I just like Varric.) Can you tell I’m enthusiastic about this piece??!

I think it will be interesting for me to see where I’ll be in a year if I continue practicing as I’ve started, considering that I already feel much more relaxed than I did two months ago when I finally resolved to pick up a pencil. I’d also like to thank everyone who liked and reblogged. I hadn’t expected to attract any attention, but your support and encouragement are invaluable and it has truly helped me keep the enthusiasm.

There, mini word barf done, tl;dr I love you guys, you’re awesome, thank you, won’t bore you any more, back to our regular programming!

@knallbart Thank you, it’s my fav piece to date!!! ❤ I don’t usually share on main, no. I only started drawing very recently, and by drawing I mean picking up a book and started going through the exercises and learning the rules, so I made @noodlingdoodle to track my own progress as a tactic in psychological warfare with myself. :) I might share some stuff in the future, but I mostly like it the way it is for now.

Some more practice. Just getting a feel for shapes and sizes, some shading, different facial features. But the eyes are still the most difficult.

@pocketpeanuts here she is! The Iron Lady, Madame de Fer. Thank you for the suggestion, I was being undecided and Viv is an amazing study. She has an awesome face.

I might not be where I want to be yet where drawing is concerned, but I think I’m making progress and I’m definitely enjoying the journey.

More practice. I might be getting the hang of this. Keyword: might. Sigh. Need to work on noses and eyes. They come out all wonky.
