I haven't played this game even though I've been planning to, but I went on his wiki for a bit. Although this assignment may or may not be inaccurate, we ball.

From what I've gathered, X puts value in the potentiality of all sorts of random things and creates overly convoluted mechanisms employed to perform simple tasks.

I looked into CTRL (funni abbreviation) cuz it had gears and a bit of a wacky appearance. X's character appears to be focused on duality and extremes. The bell on CTRL precariously swings back and forth, creating a broken sound. Although seemingly off-balance, it works just fine.

Not sure how relevant it is, but X seems to be elusive or even somewhat distrustful in how he interacts with others and perhaps doesn't like dwelling on personal issues or "letting others in".
