Jon POV - this puppy clocked in just over 10k and there was a whole other section I had in mind, but it didn’t QUITE fit, so I will likely have a small epilogue to this story in the not-to-distant future involving the fate of Pycelle, the discovery of Maester Aemon, and a Jon and Benjen meet up.

don’t judge a book by its cover | Jonerys Week Day 3: books appreciation

a/n: It is here! This was the fic I wrote first, it was the one I was most excited about, and I hope you all like it!

I can only aspire to be half the writers and artists they are.

She turned another page, not looking at him when she spoke, almost amused. “Do you always watch your customers read or is it just me?”

She glanced up at him again, slightly annoyed as well as amused. He pinked again. “Just thought that the books downstairs might be more your speed,” he mumbled, gazing around the loft, with its low slanted ceilings and books stuffed in every nook and cranny. No one really came up here.

“My speed?” Those vibrant lavender eyes darted up to meet his gray ones. Her voice cooled. “What do you mean?”

“Just that the mysteries and fantasy genre seems more your alley, didn’t think you’d be interested in the classics.”

The pert plump red lips that had been smirking at him downstairs now pressed to a fine line. “Do you always insult your customers’ intelligence?” she snapped.

Well shit. “Ah…I just meant…”

“I think I know what you meant Mr. Snow.”

He stared at her dumbly. “How do you know my name?”

“It’s on the front door,” she laughed, rolling her eyes. He flushed, embarrassed. Oh yeah, duh. She uncrossed her legs, leaning back in the chair, tapping her nails on the book she kept in her lap. “Jon Snow, proprietor. Tell me Jon Snow, what makes you think I don’t read high literature? Is it because I was also perusing romance, fantasy, and suspense genres downstairs or the young adult section? Or was it the series about a threesome that I also plan on buying? No, it’s the fact that I’m a woman and so I can’t possibly be interested in anything other than those types of books, right? Or is it because I’m an actress and I must be a ditz?”

I am really enjoying all of the Jonerys Remix fanfics. I was hoping someone would have done one based on Underworld.

I can totally see Dany as Selene and Jon as Michael.

“When did you know?” Dany asks.

“Know what? That I was in love with you or that you were in love with me?” Jon smiles, and it’s a wonder she never realized his feelings until now. It’s all in his eyes. “You talked to me a lot during my recovery when you thought I couldn’t hear you. I thought it was obvious that we felt the same about each other.”

“You’ve never said it. I worried that you weren’t completely over your last love…”

“Would you believe me if I told you I was afraid?”

When thinking of words that describe Jon, ‘afraid’ never comes to mind. Everyone is afraid of something, however. Even someone as courageous as Jon.

Dany cradles Jon’s face. Parts of his face are hidden by shadows, and she doubts he can see her face at all now. “What are you afraid of, Jon?” she asks.

“I was never the best at expressing myself. Took me a while to tell Ygritte how I felt. I chose the worst time to do it, too. I don’t even know if she loved me back. She died before she could respond.”

“You believe a profession of love from you equates to death’s kiss?”

“When you put it like that I sound like the superstitious sort.”

“Not at all. We’ve both been traumatized by our pasts.” She can’t have a menstrual cycle without remembering her miscarriage, and he can’t say those three words without seeing Ygritte dying in his arms. “Let’s find another way to say it then. How about, iksan aōhon se iksā ñuhon?”

Jon’s arms wrap around her, strong and possessive. “I have no idea what you said but sign me up.” Lifting his head from the pillow, he kisses her chin.

Dany laughs. “We need to work on your Valyrian. It means, I am yours and you are mine.”

“Iksane ahnon-”

“Iksan aōhon,” she says, slowly lowering her face to his. Over his parted lips she breathes the words into him, “se iksā ñuhon.”

Jon repeats, “Iksan aōhon se iksā ñuhon.”

Hello Everyone:

First and foremost I’d like to thank every single one of you who have read Remember The Time. Thank you for your time, your kudos and comments.

This season of GOT has sent most if not all of us into a dark hole filled with regret on having invested so much time and energy in this series. Therefore, I have made the decision to make Remember The Time an Orphan as of Monday after GoT is officially over. It will still be up on AO3 but my name will no longer be there. Last but not least, I had made a mood board a while ago for what was going to be the 3rd part of this trilogy. You can see for yourselves the adult version of Daeron, Serena and Aryanna. This is whom Lights and I envisioned them to eventually become. I hope this will bring some closure and comfort in knowing that the life Dany encountered in this story was not just a dream. As we all know, her dreams do tend to come true.
