Ok so I had just moved to my current house, but my arts/crafts supplies hadn’t made it to the house yet, and my mom’s birthday was coming up. I had the local paper and a sewing kit. This is what I came up with. Thank goodness her birthday is in August so the paper had pictures of flowers!

My friend’s kid’s art

Portrait my friend’s kid did of me, pencil and acrylic paint on canvas, 2024

He did really good! This was a “sit across from someone and you have 15 minutes to paint/draw each other’s portraits, ok, ready set go!” situation.

For reference, I was wearing the hat from the photo on the left, and the shirt from the photo on the right, and those glasses. And I love how he did my hair! I didn’t take a photo of the painting I did of him, but let’s just say mine wasn’t quite as realistic.
