Pyrrhus rose an eyebrow at her response. ”Shame I don’t have the money to pay you or we could find out for sure,” he responded straight-faced.
She wanted to slap him. As hard as she possibly could, she wanted to drag her nails across his cheek as her palm left a welting red mark. "You couldn't meet my price. And I am not in the business of putting myself through unpleasant experiences."
"Worry not your head about me. Perhaps some meade will land a man in your bed tonight, hm? Make it faster for you and seem better for him."
"Some meade would be absolutely delightful, Ruby. Although, I have no worries that the night will not be good for him. That is, if I can find a he that has not visited Carmilla yet."
