"Ehm, well… There was a lot of dancing, a lot of singing. You, your sister and Wade had a… What was it? Oh, a fiesta."

All the little things he did were actually helping in slowly calming her down, her hands slowly circling over his chest, resting her palms on the center of his back.

"H—help?" She mumbled, raising her head to finally look up at him, mighty curious. "How can you help?" Kin asked as her tail slowly wrapped around his waist, which was a true sign of affection from her.

"I can be there for you more. Anything you want me to do." He touched a tender hand to her face, and caressed her cheek, a tiny smile forming on his face as her tail moved around him.

[kinasha]

"Ooh…" Her eyes closed, gently rubbing her cheek to his hand before looking up at him again, and for the first time in a while she smiled sweetly, her cheeks turning a lovely shade of red. "I would love that yes…" 

"Kiss me, yea…?" She mumbled, standing on her tip toes.

"Gladly, love."

Vincent smiled a little more, and ran his fingers through her hair as he leaned down and pressed his lips to hers softly.

"I love you."

"Ehm, well… There was a lot of dancing, a lot of singing. You, your sister and Wade had a… What was it? Oh, a fiesta."

She needed him so much, and it still scared her to let even an ounce of her guard down. The dragoness let out a tiny sound as she was pulled closer to him and at first just stood there frozen, unknown of what to do. 

He promised…and she felt such a rush of feelings deep inside. Her forehead pressed against the center of his chest, hands slowly moving up and gripping on his shirt as she quietly sobbed, her petite form shivering as if she had a cold.

"I-I’ll work on the way I act….I want to show you…everything of me." She mumbled, sniffling lightly and closing her eyes.

He held her a little tighter, gently rubbing her back in some small attempt to calm her down. Resting his chin atop her head, he sighed shakily, and gave a gentle nod.

"I would like to help," he whispered. "And I will do everything I can do be here. I swear it."

"Ehm, well… There was a lot of dancing, a lot of singing. You, your sister and Wade had a… What was it? Oh, a fiesta."

She stopped the moment he took hold of her wrist but didn’t looked back to him, ashamed of the way she was feeling, sobbing quietly as more tears rolled down her cheeks.

The dragoness turned her head slightly, looking up at him with sad eyes, she looked pitiful, opening her mouth to speak but words failing until she actually managed to squeak out: 

In all truth it killed her when he wasn’t around for such a long time, but she kept all of these feelings hidden expertly like she was taught years back.

"….do you promise?" She mumbled closing her eyes and raising a hand to wipe the tears away.

For the first time in his life -- or lives -- Vincent felt his heart break. All this time, he hadn't known or understood just what his time away was doing to her. She hid it well, and he'd never thought to ask.

His lip quivered, and he pulled her close, wrapping his arms around her. He spoke with a shaky breath. "I promise you, I'm not going anywhere. I love you too much."

"Ehm, well… There was a lot of dancing, a lot of singing. You, your sister and Wade had a… What was it? Oh, a fiesta."

She stayed silent as he spoke to her, her breath getting caught in her throat as she tried with all of her strength to not let the tears flow. “…I was patient, always.”

Her voice got caught as her breathing broke into a whimper. “Because—” Her eyes watered again and there was no stopping it as she took a gasping breath, the tears rolling down her cheeks.

"I-I’m afraid." She admitted, finally having the courage to stare up to him again. "I’m terrified….to think that I will be alone, that you will leave." The more she spoke, the more anxious she was becoming, feeling her pulse rise and she swore that her heart was about to jump up her throat.

Years and years of getting drilled into her head that displaying any weaknesses whatsoever would get you nowhere, she doesn’t know what to do anymore.

"…I’m sorry….I’m so sorry…" she was at the point of breaking and she just couldn’t let him see so she turned around to leave.

Vincent could feel his heart break as she spoke, watching the tears that he knew were his fault as they rolled down her cheeks, staining her skin. He wanted so badly to reach out and wipe them away, but he knew that it wouldn't erase the pain she felt.

He stretched his arm out to take her wrist gently as she turned away, licking his lips, his own tear-filled eyes looking at her and pleading.

"Kin... I'm not going to leave you. I almost made that mistake once. I would rather die than make it again."

"Ehm, well… There was a lot of dancing, a lot of singing. You, your sister and Wade had a… What was it? Oh, a fiesta."

"Hmn.."

"They had. I felt out of place here, there was so many things that I needed to learn and forget it was sometimes just too much for me. I even argued with Kinasha once…almost to the point of physical fight.”

Her bottomlip trembled. “I am always trying to be strong. I can’t show weakness…not to her, not to her friends, and not to you. I’ve lost count the times I broke down, alone.”

She nodded, averting her gaze from his, her own eyes watering.

"Kin, I don't know what else to say, other than how sorry I am. It wasn't easy for me, either... Being away from you." He rubbed his face. "But had I stayed around to deal with my own demons, it only would have been toxic."

His expression softened as he looked at her, seeing the very onset of tears. "Why not show me your weaknesses? What harm is there in allowing me to see these other sides of you? You can't possibly think I'd think less of you."

"Ehm, well… There was a lot of dancing, a lot of singing. You, your sister and Wade had a… What was it? Oh, a fiesta."

  "Of course I love you." His eyes dropped away from hers and he sighed quietly — it was almost sad sounding. "I-I’m sorry if I’ve given you reason to not believe it."

[kinasha]

Her heart sank as she heard him sigh and lightly bit her lip. Despite how she was and acted, she disliked arguing with him. “I’m sorry I never told you this before. It has been very difficult with you away so much…”

"Can you at least promise me something?" The dragoness took a step forward just inches away from me. "Be honest with me…always."

"I... I'm sorry. I hadn't considered that things were difficult in my absence."

He blinked, his eyes damp, and looked her in the eye, nodding. "I will. I swear it."

Her head tilted to the side, glancing up at him as he approached her, lips pressed into a thin line, trying her best to keep her serious stare. “I know it was long ago…I-I just thought that you would remember.” 

She blushed slightly before raising a hand, gently touching his cheek, her expressions greatly softening, a rare sight of her that only he got to see.

"You love me, don’t you?" Her voice was soft, almost a whisper. Of course she knew the answer, it was just silly…but she wanted to hear him.

"Of course I love you." His eyes dropped away from hers and he sighed quietly -- it was almost sad sounding. "I-I'm sorry if I've given you reason to not believe it."

"I had been upset all these days, and I guess it wasn’t fair for you." Looks down for a moment. "I just don’t get on why you forgot that you lied to me long ago."

He swallowed the nervous lump in his throat and took a step toward her, running his hand through his hair.

"Because it was long ago, love. I thought we'd moved beyond that? Besides, I don't like to remember you hurt."

"Ah yes…hopefully none of what I did was recorded in the fiesta.”Says so in a way of correcting the way he pronounced it, she sighed rubbing at her tempers. “Vincent, can we talk?”

Vincent glanced up with a bit of a frown at the obvious sass in the way she pronounced the word, but shook his head. "Not to my knowledge. Plenty of photographs, but that was mainly Wade and Kinasha."

"Talk about what, darling?"
