Once known as North America, Panem is now divided into 12 districts, all under the control of the Capitol. Each year, one boy and one girl, from ages 12-20, from each of the districts will be chosen to participate in the annual Hunger Games to fight to their deaths. The famous Mockingjay rebellion has failed against the districts, and as punishment, the mentors and sponsors are taken away, and tributes are now aged 12-20, making the chances even bigger. The Arena shows Laurel's district number and picture in the sky, and then plunges into darkness.

A new day has started, the Arena has shifted once again to confuse the tributes. It's been fairly quiet for the past two days. That's about to change.

Thunder and lightning. Seems pretty harmless at first, albeit a bit frightening to some tributes. This isn't normal thunder and lightning, though. Is anything in the Arena normal?

The lightning is even deadlier than it already is. It's three times hotter than usual, so if you get hit, you'll probably just turn to ashes. It hits every 5-10 seconds, so it's constant lightning. It's also specifically designed to take down trees, so if tributes try to run away, they may get trapped. If the lightning hits the ground, you may be severely shocked, or it might be like an explosion and you'd fly backwards. Words of wisdom: avoid trees.

Deaths for Day 5.

It's a new day in the Arena. Last night, the Capitol anthem played, shining Rendwick's face over the Arena. The sun went down, and has now come back up. The Arena shifted once again, slowly and quietly. New mutts and new disasters will fill today.

The first disaster today is a flood. This isn't any normal flood. It fills up where you are in a matter of minutes, and the only way to stay safe is to be in the highest trees. It also can come in a giant wave, then filling up the place. If you're not a good swimmer, well, you better learn how to swim. The water is saltwater, meaning, you can't drink it when it's over. Characters will be messaged if they are affected by the flood.

The second thing to happen is another set of birds. These aren't Jabberjays, though. They look like them, but are far different. They look innocent, singing sweet little songs in the treetops. These birds are deadly, though. They peck at you continuously, and can have many at once trying to bite your flesh off. No weapon? You're screwed.

WE WILL MESSAGE THOSE AFFECTED BY THE FLOODS. DO NOT POST ABOUT THE FLOOD IF YOU DO NOT GET A MESSAGE. IF YOU DO NOT GET A MESSAGE, YOUR CHARACTER WILL BE AFFECTED BY THE BIRDS. EVERYONE IS AFFECTED BY ONE OF THESE EVENTS.

Slowly, steadily, unnoticeable. The roads and direction you are heading to has changed, but the center point is still the Cornucopia.

A new day in the Arena has started. The Capitol anthem played last night, shining Huck's face over the Arena, and the sun has come back out. Everything looks peaceful.

That is, until the next set of mutations come out.

Jabberjays. That's what they are. They were used in the 75th Hunger Games, but since those Games haven't been shown since and most people who have seen it have died, they're mostly forgotten. These birds can replicate human voices, songs, sounds, etc. In the arena, they'll be used as torture devices. They'll replicate screams of the ones they love, sending fear and confusion into the tributes. However, they've added another thing to the Games. A person/persons you fear, despise, hate, have been added. It will sound like they are coming to attack you. So, both love and hate will be mixed into these mutts.

If you shoot one down, more come. They just seem to get louder and louder. Here's the catch: only the tribute hearing the screams can actually hear the screams. The allies or other tributes in the Arena cannot. They'll get louder and louder, until they stop short without warning. They don't fade; they just cut out.

ALMOST EVERYONE WILL BE AFFECTED, MINUS ONE OR TWO TRIBUTES. WE WILL MESSAGE THOSE PEOPLE AND TELL THEM THEY WILL NOT BE AFFECTED. IF YOU DO NOT GET THE MESSAGE, YOUR CHARACTER WILL BE AFFECTED.
