when finding satellite dishes they point in a southern direction and they’re often hidden round the back of houses or on top of them so you can’t see it from the street. I didn’t realise people planned where they put them aside from making sure it was pointing in the right direction (¿grammar?).
Except for apartment complexes where they only have one area where they can put it and that’s on their balcony. But some apartment complexes didn’t have them on balconies but in those cases they were pointing south and on the back of the block/wall.
There were some roads near kings cross, they looked like fancy flats*, and there were loads of dishes, not all of them from balconies but about half (maybe?). The other half were mounted on the corner of the building. Maybe if you ask ur landlord you can put it wherever, but you’d have to care enough to do that.
Also found people in london are not outwardly bothered by you taking pictures of peoples homes (yet). No one spoke to me and I didn’t see anyone looking at me curiously, but then I wouldnt coz looking about would make me look more suspicious.
And in some places people are very lax about security.
I’m thinking about finding somewhere high to get better pictures but that’d mean either 3 things:
Car park/rooftop bar
asking to go to the roof of somewhere
Sneaking
Am not going to climb coz that’d get me killed, unless it’s not very high then I might.
(*red brick, white trimmings, sort of half octagon shaped balconies)(THERE WERE TENNIS COURTS NEAR)
I saw the biggest staffy today as well.
Another potential issue is that it’s illegal to take photos through people’s windows - Idk the particulars - but publishing those photos is illegal so I’ll have to be careful to check all photos and blur out faces and contents of windows and and street signs.
