“i’m comin’! i’m comin’….” the words were let out in a deep sigh as frankie made her way to the front of the studio. normally people booked appointments for classes ahead of time, the occasional person wandering in every now and again. she had taken a risk trying to eat her lunch, and the moment she heard the bell above the door go off, she was on her feet and rushing. “sorry about that!” she smiled, eyes practically glittering with excitement as she approached the other. “what can i do for you today?”

with flour on their hands and a clueless look on their face, jack smith couldn’t help but harumph down at the state of themselves. they were used to being covered in various ingredients, unable to make it through an entire day at piece of cake without some sort of incident occurring. the only difference was, they watched as someone entered the bakery, and suddenly their cheeks were bright red with embarrassment and they were shooting the potential customer a weary smile. “heya,” they greeted, fingers suddenly wiping along their beloved shark-patterned apron. “sorry about the mess — you’ve just missed a delightful show of me spilling the beginnings of a cake everywhere.”

an unknown fact about hale is that she loves burning incense. if you were to ever step in her office, you’d find a little cloud of smoke coming front he corner of her desk and emitting a scent that’s usually used to calm herself. but even hale knows that she needs to mix it up every now and again, and her decision-making skills when it came to this kind of thing severely lacked. she held two different types of incense in her hands, eyes darting from one to another before she looked up and caught the eye of the nearest person. “do you mind if i ask you a silly question?” she was already angling her body in their direction, a soft sigh leaving her lips as she held the sticks out to them. “which one do you think smells better?”

“shit,” grey muttered, practically bursting through the door of the badger & boar, eyes seeking out the friend she’d promised to meet ten minutes ago. normally she was prompt, arriving at least five minutes early so she wouldn’t be a disappointment, but today was clearly a bad day. “i’m sorry! i’m so sorry,” she spoke, finally locating that familiar face as she tugged her jacket off and slid into the booth across from them. “i swear to god i was on my way when i texted you, and then my boss pulled me aside and things went downhill from there.” grey pushed her fingers through blonde hair, cheeks puffing out in frustration before she flashed them a guilty smile. “think you could forgive me?”

wyatt had been walking around nottinghill all day, recording everything he’d seen throughout the day. he really didn’t know what he was filming everything for, just wanted to catch the town in motion. maybe he’d see something and he’d get inspired. everyone either seemed to ignore him or question why he was recording, which he would lie about and say he was scouting the area for a new movie. he’d been walking backwards for the past twenty minutes before he backed into someone, quickly turning on his feet. ❛ fuck me! ❜ he exclaimed before looking at the other. ❛ i’m so sorry. i shouldn’t have been walking backwards. that’s all on me.❜

Callum usually liked his job, but today he was so tired. He didn’t sleep well so that might be the reason. It didn’t help the fact he drank all bottle of whiskey by himself last night.

It wasn’t a long time ago he broke up with someone. Well, that person, precisely him, broke up with him. The thing was, well, Callum even gorgeous face as he is, had a really bad luck in love.

He tried to focus on other things but he wanted something serious with somebody. After all, his career was going very well. As he was thinking he could hear somebody’s footsteps.

When Faye heard the words ‘the coffee machine’s gone down’ she wanted to scream. Following a long shift on the ambulance, one that had fewer happy endings than bad, she’d needed something strong to calm her nerves before getting home again. But here they were and caffeine very much not available to her in that moment. She pondered her options, the stress very much written all over her face, and then turned suddenly to head for the exit, walking straight into the person behind her without realising. “Shit. Sorry.” Mumbled words, eyes wide. “It’s been a bad day.”

𝐀 𝐃𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐊 𝐀𝐅𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐂𝐋𝐎𝐒𝐈𝐍𝐆 the shop was something he would never turn down. Some would say that it was yet another hour for him to wallow in what he had lost, but it was during these times that in contrast to popular opinion – his mind was quiet. His mind was quiet, until the moment he opened the door to enter the real world once more. Removing a cigarette from his pocket, the lighter soon followed. The dancing flame accompanied the dim light from the street lamps for a mere fraction of a second before he took his first drag. The exhale? Felt like freedom.

At first, the rocker wasn’t aware that he had company. That is, until his head turned to examine his surroundings. “Oh shit.” He laughed, shaking his head before his gaze returned to the other. “You lookin’ for someone? Somethin’?”

It took Ethan a moment to register which neighborhood of the city he had ended up in last night, falling victim to the early morning sun rays once he stepped out onto the empty sidewalk kept company by the fractured memories of an evening of booze and blondes. He squinted, raked his fingers through his tussled locks, and began the trek back to his flat. Apparently, Notting Hill was a lot bigger than he had realized.

The blocks seemed endless, and the pounding in Ethan’s skull seemed even more so. He had almost made it back to his flat unscathed, when he realized he was no longer alone. “Shit,” he mumbled then brought a hand to the nape of his neck and shrugged. “Er— hey.”

the hotel was busy as the holidays were upon them. families who came from all over to visit other family member’s were staying in the hotel, and billie was working hard to make up for the staff that took time off. not spending much time with her sixteen year old son. but she had to do what she did for him, to keep their flat that the pair shared. she moved through the lobby, rearranging decorations and greeting both guests and staff alike. she walked back over to the main desk before smiling at the person waiting there. ❛ welcome love! i’m so sorry about that wait. are you checking in? ❜
