I've been thinking about it for a while and.... I've decided that I'm going to lock my fics on AO3, so that only users with an account can read them. I'm really sorry, but with what's going on, we can't look the other way while others train the AI and profit from our time, effort and creativity, which we do for FREE. They STEAL all this from us

I know that creating an account on AO3 takes a long time, but in the meantime, I can try to post everything I write here as well, or send you a copy. But please, create an account! It will be yours forever, and you will be able to access all your favorite fics!!

Approximately 12.6 million public works were scraped from AO3 and several other published-work sites, including PaperDemon, which has regular updates on the situation as well as resources. Here is the link to their updates.

Affected AO3 users are those whose work IDs were public-facing (that is to say, not locked to registered AO3 users only), and whose work IDs are between 1 and 63,200,000.

Your work ID is the number in your work's site URL, like so:

This work has an ID only in the 61-million range, and so was scraped for the dataset.

If you wish to lock your works to be visible to logged-in users only, you can do so through Works > Edit Works > All > Edit > Only show to registered users.

I think the worst part of the whole Lila&Five thing is that Five shows absolutely no remorse in ep 6. Lila is visibly upset, she feels guilty for how things turned out. Meanwhile Five just?? Doesn't care?? He picks up a fight with Diego about like a teenage boy fighting for a school-crush? The notion that Five would not only go behind Diego's back and betray him like that, but also show no remorse is an absolute insult to his character.

He doesn't even greet any of his siblings after those 7 years apart. Five might not be a perfect man, maybe not even a good one, but throughout all seasons one of his most defining characteristics was his loyalty to his family.

But it seems like the writers forgot that Five loves Diego.

Internal documents obtained by 404 Media show that Tumblr staff compiled users' data as part of a deal with Midjourney and OpenAI.

we'd been hearing rumors about this for a bit but now its open and out there. some details from this article

it goes without saying, but if @staff goes through with this its going to be an utter shitshow and im all but certain the website will not survive it.

everyone go enable this immediately. it can be a bit hard to find because “visibility” is under blog settings instead of general settings or privacy. you have to do this individually for each separate side-blog

if you can’t find it on the app then the update probably hasn’t rolled out to you, and you’ll have to go through the web browser. what a truly wild way/time to implement this
