maybe you should just try to find a way to escape without the narrator?
I wish I knew a way, but unless there’s some part of the office that I haven’t seen before, there just isn’t.
I wish I could escape on my own.

maybe you should just try to find a way to escape without the narrator?
I wish I knew a way, but unless there’s some part of the office that I haven’t seen before, there just isn’t.
I wish I could escape on my own.
Curator, is there any hope for the Narrator and his Protagonist?
I want to believe so, though by the Protagonist’s bitter mood, it’s hard to say anything. There’s still more at play than either of them can realize on their own.
You stare at the question for a moment. “Have you ever tried to escape?”
If there was ever a time to try again, it’s now, isn’t it?
You type in your answer--something snarky, something dumb--and press submit. He won’t think much of it. Hopefully.
//
A short time later, in a break of a relatively light conversation, you pull up the courage to ask.
“Narrator, have you ever thought about leaving?”
He’s shocked, and the effort is doomed from the start. His face clouds over, you try not to wince.
You’re stuck with the consequence, but you have to try.
“..yes, I have. But we can’t do that.”
“Why not?” He always answers like this. Cryptic, as if the words themselves are poison.
“It’s not safe, Stanley. Haven’t we gone through this before?” It’s your turn to be shocked. It was at least a hundred resets ago the last time you attempted this. How did he remember?
“We--” You sigh, “We have, but you never give me an answer.”
“..I’m sorry. I can’t say anything.”
“Why.” Bitterness seeps into your tone. “There’s nothing new here, Narrator. There’s nothing else to do. Why can’t you try?”
“Stanley, you don’t understand. I literally cannot say anything.”
“Then write it. Type it. Put it in code. I don’t care, as long as it’s legible.”
“I don’t--It’s not like that--Stanley, do you think I haven’t tried? If I could’ve done anything, you’d have been out a long time ago, but it’s just not possible. ..the sooner we can accept that, the easier this existence will be.”
“Aren’t we doomed to die either way?” Silence stifles the room. He turns to meet your stare.
“I’m sorry.”
You stare at him, dumbfounded. For once, it didn’t end in screaming or fighting. It’s only a moment that you look at each other like that, though it feels longer.
You sigh and walk past him, pressing the reset button. It’s been far too long without a restart, as it was.
Another moment passes, and everything fades to white. You’re unsure, but you think you heard something.
“I’m sorry you’re stuck here with me.”
L o a d i n g . . .
“All of his co-workers were gone. What could it mean?”
You stand, silently walking. He says nothing of value as you travel, through the office, down the elevator, along the corridor labelled escape. Some part of him must remember, and it doesn’t try to stop you. The only thing that could have done that was the opposite of what happened: something off script.
You fall through the death trap and into the pristine halls of an empty museum. You know this place well.
[The Narrator will temporarily be unavailable for questions. The Curator is now available for questions in his absence.]
Hey Stanley, have you ever tried to escape?
Of course not, I love it here! :)
Hey Stanley, do you like to draw?
I’m no good at it, but it’s nice to sometimes! I’d draw something, but there’s no cameras or scanners that work in the office..
Narrator: And then, Stanley took the door on his left. Stanley, under his breath as he enters the right door probably: And then, the Narrator was a massive dickweed.
The Stanley Parable Experience, to be honest.
Stanley! I am not.
:)
hey!
just wanna say that im opening this blog up for m!as
if you have a prompt i’ll most likely take it!
thanks! <3
Do you like dancing? Have you discovered the secret disco in the parable?
I love dancing! I actually remember taking ballroom dancing classes when I was younger.. that was ridiculous. As for a disco in the parable.. not yet. >:) Thank you for the hint, though!
Does this mean you’re going to go through the story, now?
I said yet. There’s plenty of time.
You guys should co-write a book.
You think?
Considering the fact you can’t even follow a pre-scripted story, I don’t know how you’d write your own.
I think it’s hard to say, because I’d have forgotten it by now. But for the most part, I remember everything I’ve done.
I.. almost always forget. Repetition seems to help for short term memories, at least. I have a few vivid memories, but not much. They aren’t necessary when all goes as planned.
Do you like Vocaloid music
Some of it, yeah! I like.. uh, I can’t.. remember the name, sorry. But yeah, I like vocaloids!
Voca.. what now?
What is your favorite ending? Mine's the Confusion Ending!
I like going in the elevator. That’s fun.
You weren’t even supposed to get there..
Even before I started deleting things, the door opened! That wasn’t my fault!
Dear lord.. I suppose I’m still partial to the intended ending of this story, though it’s been an eternity since I’ve seen it.
Boring.
how are your memories from before the parable? do you remember something, or nothing at all?
Oh, jeez..
I apologize, but I’m not letting Stanley see this one. The last time it got brought up, it didn’t go well.
We both remember certain things about our lives, who we were, and I know how we got here.
But Stanley doesn’t, and I’d prefer to keep it that way. It’s for his own good.
cryptid mod appears from the depths with an announcement

Overdramatic, to be honest.
