“No, of course not. She’s perfectly fine, and so is the baby. More than fine, actually.” Nodding to assure him that she was serious, she continued. “Do you have some time? Or is now not exactly the best?”

Jane could tell by the look on his face that he had no idea how she knew his name. Chuckling, she smiled a bit brighter. “My name is Jane. I know your sister.”

You know I really can’t pass up a shopping trip. Now you have me interested in what new, modern things they have for babies. We’ll also have to get lunch because I know I’m going to be hungry soon.”

“He’s definitely going to need a lot more clothes. Although, not too many, since he will just grow out of them rather quickly. Great, so it’s settled, then. We’re going shopping. Oh, yes, of course. Lunch is a must. Have you had any cravings lately? Or are you past that phase?”

“That’s true… I quite like Liam Alexander, especially since it uses the names I already like. I think I will give him my last name. I think it would just be wrong to give him any other name, anyway. Certainly not his father’s.”

“I’m glad you agree. I’m also glad now that we have a name to give him, other than baby; Liam Alexander. It has a nice ring to it. Have you gotten everything that he’ll need, yet? We could go shopping for him. I’ve seen some of the things modern people create for babies, and they are extraordinary.”

“No, I definitely don’t want any teasing. I just figured I would come up with a name and that would be it. I didn’t think I’d have so many options… Alright, I have Henry, Eliott, Alexander, or Liam. What do you think?”

“Not only one name but you have to give him a middle name as well. Hmm... I kind of like combining Liam and Alexander, if I’m quite honest. Liam Alexander Beast. That is, of course, if you plan to give him your last name, which I think you should.”

Jane made her way to Ellie’s room as soon as she got the girl’s text, knocking twice on the door as she stuffed the phone into her back pocket.

“Oh, yeah. I knew that was a real compliment… It’s nice to know that you’re not rude to us new people. I really appreciate you taking the time to show me where to go. I don’t usually get this turned around. Not that I’ve ever really been to many other castles or palaces before. But, you know what I mean.”

“I like to think I’m sarcastically playful, rather than rude, but I do see sometimes it can translate wrong. Oh, don’t mention it, really. I’ve been here before, and just came back recently, so I can understand how confusing it is. Really? You seem like a charming royal type guy. You don’t go around visiting castles or palaces?”

“Was it obvious? Sorry, I try not to flaunt my embarrassment for others, but it slips now and then. Kidding, mostly. Do you need some help?”

Jane smiled to herself, hearing Ellie sigh. Pinching the braid between her fingers as it was halfway done, she lifted it off of the girl’s shoulders, exposing her neck and back slightly. Leaning forward, Jane placed a kiss behind Ellie’s ear, and then slowly started to kiss down her neck, nipping and sucking on her skin. She hummed softly, going back to braiding Ellie’s hair when she reached the girl’s collar bone, as if nothing had happened.

Ellie was surprised when she felt Jane’s lips near her ear, chewing on her bottom lip as the girl kissed down her neck. It felt so good, and she figured she couldn’t be too surprised that Jane would do this. Ellie wasn’t going to stop her, though, which was a little unnerving. It was just obvious that she had missed Jane a lot. When she went back to finishing the brain in her hair, she let out a breath she hadn’t realized she’d held in. “You really don’t need to tease me,” she said with a laugh.

Jane smirked softly, shaking her head. “I have no ide what you’re talking about.” Of course she was going to deny it just for a bit, as it was more fun that way. As soon as she finished the braid, she twisted the elastic around the end of Ellie’s hair, finishing it up. “There we go... all done,” she smiled, resting her hands on the girl’s shoulders, massaging them gently. She made sure to be extra careful with the one that was hurt, not wanting to make it worse. Moving her hands slowly down Ellie’s back, she kissed along the opposite side of her neck, making a smal mark there.

“All right. I’ll try not to be too graphic with him,” Ellie replied with a laugh. She knew Jane was teasing, but she would do it anyway. She liked talking, anyway. Might as well make it useful to the population of the palace. They didn’t need more babies. “Of course it would. Boys love hearing they’re attractive.” Though, she supposed anyone liked hearing that. Boys just took it way more seriously. When Jane protested that she shouldn’t kiss her that quick, Ellie couldn’t help smiling. She leaned in and kissed her again, feeling her kiss back. Then they parted and she felt the girl’s fingers brush against her neck, sighing at the touch.

Ellie laughed, figuring that it would probably be awkward to bring up the conversation to her younger brother. After all, she had even felt awkward telling her brothers about it. “I still haven’t met your brother, but knowing you, I’m sure your brother is very handsome.” She figured that if he was a virgin, then he wouldn’t be one soon. That’s just how it seemed to work here. When Jane mentioned how her pregnancy hadn’t scared her, she blushed. “That’s because you’re wonderful.” She turned her head to look at her, smiling for a moment before leaning in and kissing her quickly.

“Maybe I should arrange for the two of you to meet, and you can warn him about the dangers of one night stands yourself,” Jane teased, knowing she really wouldn’t do that to Ellie. Exploitation wasn’t her style. “He’s a good looking kid, but I don’t tell him that, because it will go to his head.” Jane’s eyes widened when Ellie called her wonderful, not expecting the compliment but certainly not about to refuse one. The kiss was also unexpected, though more than welcome. “Hey, you can’t just do that and not give me time to kiss you back,” she teased, turning the girl’s face back to her so she could properly kiss her. Focusing back on braiding her hair, Jane’s fingers brushed against the back of Ellie’s neck delicately, on purpose, just barely grazing her.

When she said that she had been following her brother around, Ellie couldn’t help laughing. “That’s good, though. I hope you’re using me as a cautionary tale if he really does have a crush on some girl here. Tell him that you know me and I got pregnant from a one night stand. It’ll make him worry a little,” she added jokingly. She really didn’t want anyone else to end up like her, though.

Jane laughed, imagining telling Danny about how Ellie ended up pregnant. It probably would scare him, enough to not rush into anything right away, anyway. “To my knowledge, I don’t believe he’s ever really slept with anyone, though I wouldn’t be too surprised if I’m wrong.” Her brother was an attractive guy, she could admit that, though she was fairly certain he was still pure, as they say. “Luckily it didn’t scare me, when I found out,” she teased, looking over Ellie’s shoulder to smile at her.
