The boy looked guilty about something. He knew that face right away. He was going to try and sneak by him? Right he was able to hear footsteps from miles away and his own son he would be able to sneak into their ancestral home right under his nose like that? He thought Hiccup knew him better than that. After the years spent alone with each other in the house.Â
âAye ye eat up. Looks like ye need it.â
He pours two mugs of mead for them as he slipped the mug to his son as he slowly took his place at his usual seat. Watching the boy eat the way he was heâd almost guess that his son hadnât eaten in a while.Â
âAre ye eatinâ right out âere son?â

Hiccup felt something vaguely similar to disappointment come from his father at first, but the feeling waved off when he spoke up. It wasnât the past where he personally felt that he disappointed the man non-stop with his antics. With all the trouble and headaches he caused. But now he was an adult, and things were better now.
Taking large scoops of the vegetables straight to his mouth. It certainly hit him hard when he realized just how hungry he was. Jerky, and what he called soup didnât make much for a meal outside of Berk. Utensil in mouth, he looked up at his father at the question.
âIâm eating, canât really get any thinner.â Hiccup joked, well tried to if his stomach didnât growl. âEh, I mean, I eat. Astrid makes sure I do most of the time... and Toothless.â
Full of sweet dreams, and health, and quiet breathing

Rapunzel gazed at the reptile, truly astonished by his magnificence. To think dragons actually existed, they werenât fairy talesâŠ.  Â
âIâŠ.I couldnât really sayâ she replied, attention now turning to the viking.  âI donât get out muchâ (or EVERâ)
how in the world did these two meet? That was a story she really wanted to know. Perhaps Hiccup would be kind enough to share his story?Â
âWhere didâŠ. I meanâŠÂ  how did you find each other?â
âItâs uhh... a long story.â He was a bit more interested in why a girl was locked away in a single tower. It didnât seem to have anyway of leaving unless one face planted into the ground below. Or they climbed.... oh her hair. His eyes went to Toothless as he sat on the edge of the window of the tower. Probably not the best place to leave him. But bringing him in wasnât the best idea either.
âIt was a few years ago, and my clan didnât really like dragons much. But after shooting this guy down, healing him, almost being disowned by my father, and losing my leg to save everyone from the Red Death it kind of worked itself out.â He was giving her the abridged version, which did lead to more questions.
Anna had sent Hiccup the box of chocolates and a toy for Toothless to rip into pieces. However this time she added something new. Inside a box were a pair of thick leather riding gloves and a dark brown winter coat with Arendelle's signature rosemaling around the trim in a tan colored thread. "To keep you warm on the coldest of days and darkest of nights. And to remind you that I'm always there for you. Merry Christmas Hiccup.", read the card tucked in the coat pocket.
While chocolate, anything sweet for that matter, took a while for Hiccup to be used to he was quick to pop in one of the chocolates in his mouth. Eyes scanning over the short card over, and over with a smile that read lovesick to any onlooker with eyes. He was thankful that it was just Toothless with him for the time being. The Nightfury quick to play with his gift just as roughly as he surmised. Anna knew them too well. Placing the letter away with his notes (he needs to put that away in the collection he kept), his eyes went back on the exact gifts. The riding gloves fit him like.. well a glove. The craftsmenship blew his own out of the water as it was made by actual professionals. And admittedly warmer; even loose enough that his coordination wasnât too thrown off. The jacket made him a bit nervous. He didnât want to hide it persay, but his frequent visits and letters with Anna were going to catch wind eventually. Astrid huffing annoyingly whenever she caught him daydreaming, and the twins using that to their advantage for their more outlandish pranks.
Wearing this might actually lead to a few citizens questioning Hiccupâs intentions. Old views were hard to change; especially with the reputation Arendelle had long ago with Berk. Fingers ran over the patterns over, and over with a longing gaze. He missed her, it was plain and simple. Everyone else saw her in a different light then he did.
âOdin why.... is this punishment of some kind?â He lamented, hands running over his face. Toothless ceased his playing to nuzzle against Hiccupâs side. âIâm pretty sure Iâm going crazy, bud.â Hiccup muttered, hands running over his friends chin. Cheeks red, and fingers itching to write another, more meaningful letter to the princess.
Came off Hiatus to say that uhhh big brain thinking here; Hiccup and Toothless transformers au.

@talkingfiishbone Liked for a starter
[âŠ]â;
The door creaked open to their ancestral home as he looked behind himself. There were days he never knew if his son would return home in time for a decent meal. But for once in his life time it seemed the boy did return home on time. He was bent over their hearth as he had a small pot on the fire. The smell of sweetened vegetables and boar was in the air as he finally smiled.Â
âGood ta see yer home son. In time fer dinner no less.â
Usually he ate alone. Which was a bit lonely but he couldnât place that blame on his son. There was so much the boy wanted to see before he was rooted to Berk as the next chief.Â
âAye grab a drink and a plate and come enjoy yerself. Made yer favorite.â
                            ℠℠℠â„
Hiccup was hoping to make it a quick stop. He left some charcoal in his room, and the supplies he carried was running low. Usually heâd go to the smithy, but if he ran into Gobber he might be stopped a bit longer then what he wanted.
Not this was much better, stiffening as his father called out to him. For a moment hesitant to walk in any farther, he hadnât felt like that in a while, but this was different from when he was younger. Guilty that he was even considering to duck back in and out of his own home; especially when his father sounded happy for his arrival.
âRight. Thanks, Dad.â Hiccup finally stepped into the comfortable warmth of their home. His father wasnât joking when he said he made his favorite. An audible growl came from his stomach; clear sign that it had been far too long since he had an actual meal. Grabbing a plate, as he was told to, he piled his plate with some enthusiasm.
âIâm not used to eating this early,â He was certain this was early, or was he just used to eating later?

Anna let her eyes slowly close as she relished in this moment between them. Sometimes not finding the right words to say was a good thing. Her mind wondered if this could be a normal routine for them. If they could see each other more often and see where this, whatever it was, went.
But as the echoing music from inside the ballroom ceased and the thunderous applause took its place, the princess was snapped back into reality. Who was she kiddingâŠHiccup didnât have time for her. They were from two different worlds, both trying to keep the peace in their lands. And she knew she wasnât worth the travel. There were far more important things than she.
Lifting her head off of Hiccupâs shoulder, she stepped back from him, letting go of his hand as she tucked an invisible strand of hair behind her ear. âSorry! Sorry. Just, got lost in the music I guess.â, he laughed nervously as she smoothed out the non-existent wrinkles in her gown.
âWe should uhhâŠwe should probably start heading in. At least to make sure not all the food is gone. You know, me! I canât go an hour without eating a little something.â Chuckling awkwardly, she folded her arms across her waist and looked over her shoulder. âYou think we should get a plate for Toothless or do you think heâs eaten all the fish in the fjord by now?â
âAnna-â The applause quieted his voice as the princess pulled away from him. The cool night of Arendelle hitting him harder than before. Closing his empty hands he looked down at his foot. Looking back up as Anna laughed, clearly she was very aware of the situation they were in.
Tightening his hands he locked his jaw to think over his options. Maybe Anna was confused. She wanted to take a break from what sheâs so used to. And that might just be all he was. If that was the case then maybe pursuing this, asking questions might make it worse. Expression stern for a moment he looked up at the moon, how it shined down upon the two. This wasnât right. He wasnât in the right place in this. He wasnât some prince from a far off land that can help Arendelle. Much less get the support of Arendelle, save for Anna.
âYou should head back in, youâre an important guest after all. And if youâre out with me this late... maybe itâs just best. Iâll look for him, he couldnât have gone off too far by now.â Hiccup takes a few steps away from her, creating as much space without it being clear he wanted to be alone. He wanted to think all this over. Why he was here, why he should be.
âIâll be back, promise.â
Because I love you.
âŠI could never hate you
thearendelleprincessannaâ:
âHonestly? No.â, Anna admitted, her gaze lowering to the floor. âFor the longest time I didnât think I would meet anyone, let alone a viking chief. Now, to be fair, I knew about my sisterâs coronation day and all, the one day the gates would be open to Arendelle butâŠ.it was only a day. Any people I metâŠ.would be gone.â
Silence fell between them as she gathered her thoughts, trying hard to not let past emotions get the better of her. âBut! Thatâs all changed now and I am free to see whom I please. I knew Iâd meet princes, and Dukes and such but a viking? A viking CHIEF at that? Never! Iâm very glad I did though.â, she admitted softly, gently squeezing his hand that held her own.
âI justâŠ.I just wish we werenât so far away from each other. I mean, itâs not the other side of the world, and on a dragon Iâm sure it takes no time, but stillâŠ.itâd be nice to see you more often. I mean, if you wanted to of course, you donât have to see me more often, I know youâre busy cause again youâre a chief and all and-â Anna stopped abruptly, noticing her rambling as she blushed from embarrassment.
Anna felt her heart beat hard in her chest, making her feel lightheaded and in a daze, she tried to find the right words but they faded from her mind as soon as she opened her mouth. So instead, she let her actions do the talking and leaned forward, placing a gentle kiss on Hiccupâs cheek before resting her head on his shoulder, as they continued their dance.
Hiccup stayed quiet, out of politeness, he rambled too when he tried to get through with what he was feeling and thinking. Those two things often made a mess to be honest. As she talked how lonely she was he was tempted to stop the dancing and hug her. Instead giving her hand a reassuring squeeze, his thumb caressing the outside of her small, dainty hand.
It hit him how small Anna was to him, and how while she was bright and full of wonder about everything around her it come from being withheld from so much. And now she was free to discover it all. For some reason he was the most important person in all that, from what she implying anyway. Noticing how her cheeks flushed, and how her voice quieted.
âAnna I-â He wanted to reassure her that coming here was something heâd do again, and again if it meant hearing her voice. But a line would be crossed the,.That meant little now though as she moved in close to him. Her soft lips against his cheek, it had a little stubble but not like his chin, he took a moment to process what just happened.
âAh.... uhm...â He began to grow flush himself, how he could feel her brushing against his adamâs apple. His heart racing as he wasnât sure if they were a bit too close now. Itâs been a while since this happened, a girl liking him, that he wasnât sure how to react. Now feeling like he was 15 all over again.
fightfearwithfunâ:
Jackâs form appeared to shrink slightly at Hiccupâs continued resistance, dismay washing over his face. This moment lasted no longer than the span of a heartbeat before the spirit boy returned with full vigor and determination. Heâd decided in his own head, good intentions all, that Hiccup needed a break - vacation if you will- away from the pressures that came with being the chiefâs son and being a Viking in general. And it was only the characteristic Viking stubbornness he had to get through.
âCâmon Hic, whereâs that reckless Viking abandon?â
Excluding an offer to help with the work (ever if he could be of any use at all), Jack was willing to do anything to get Hiccup away from that forge.
âJust hear me out, alright? Say your lunch break accidentally runs a little long? You just lost track of time. Honest mistake.â
Jackâs question didnât rest easy on Hiccup. He already knew he was the most unviking-like viking to ever exist in all of Berk history. Well, he knew stories of children like him never lasting long in the harsh winters, or during dragon attacks. Maybe that was why his dad treated him as such a nuisance, and why he got into so much to try and prove himself. He was reckless, but after the talking to her got last night he was a bit... less so.
âSo if I do go with you, and Iâm not going to, what would you even suggest? Iâm sure if I leave the village right now someone will let my dad know.â Or maybe theyâd hope the wild inhabitants of the forest would kill him. He wasnât particularly sure.
