What is a noun?
A noun represents a person, place, things or idea . It is also called as naming word. In a sentence a noun plays a major role. ( Lavanya, school, book, love)
Types of noun
1. Common noun
Common noun is the word of a person, place or things.Example: Person, school, book
The teacher is reading a story.
In which school is your son studying?
Pass me the book.
2. Proper noun
Proper noun is the name given to a person, place or thing. It start's with a capital letter. Example: Lavanya , Sri Chitanya Techno School , Harry Potter
Lavanya is reading a story.
My son is studying in Sri Chitanya Techno School.
Pass me the Harry Potter book.
3.Abstract noun
Abstract noun are things that you cannot see or touch, which is not detected and felt with five sense organ. Example: Love, Honesty, Kindness
Love is a strong feeling.

4.Concrete noun
Concrete noun are things that can be seen or touched, which is detected and felt with five sense organ. Example: Cat, Music, Biryani,

5.Collective noun

6.Compound noun
Compound noun refers to a noun that is made up of more than one word. Example: butter+ fly=butterfly, water+melon= watermelon, Star+fish= starfish

7.Countable noun
Countable noun are nouns that can be counted or measured. It may be singular or in plural forms.
