The Scavenger Hunt - Eijiro Kirishima

today was your boyfriend eijiro’s birthday, and you’d been counting down the days. after weeks of planning, your surprise was finally ready.

in the UA dorms, eijiro woke up to find a red envelope on his nightstand. inside was a letter which said:

‘happy birthday my love! now for your first mission, you have to head to the place where we first trained together. the hunt starts where you first showed me how manly you are 😉’

eijiro immediately grinned, texting you a ‘babe, what r u up to?!’ but got no response. he quickly showered and got ready to start.

when he was done, he picked up the envelope and read the message. ‘the first place we trained together…’ he thought to himself. ‘the training grounds!!’

he hurriedly rushed to the training grounds, hoping to find his next clue. there, he was met with bakugo holding a red envelope and a dumbell keychain.

“tch, took you long enough,” bakugo muttered, shoving the items in eijiro’s hands.

the envelope read:

‘congrats on finding the first clue! i hope you like the keychain. now you have to head to the place where we may or may not have stolen chocolate pudding and had a midnight snack’

“THAT HAS TO BE THE CAFETERIA!” eijiro exclaimed in delight, causing bakugo to grumble. “better get going then,” he mumbled.

once eijiro had entered the cafeteria, he was met with the sight of mina holding yet another red envelope and a cupcake. “hey eijiro!”

he greeted her back before taking the cupcake and opening the envelope.

‘you’ve made it to the second location! now for your third clue: this is the place you saw me cry for the first after watching a movie (and YES it was sad and NO i wasn’t over exaggerating).’

“that’s gotta be the common room!” he chuckled, rushing back to the dorms whilst scoffing down his cupcake.

“hey man! you made it!” sero waved. he handed eijiro a photo booth strip of the two of you with another red envelope.

he took some time gazing at the at the strip of photos, running his thumb over them. “she’s really something else, huh?” eijiro muttered to himself with a toothy grin.

finally, he opened the envelope.

‘i absolutely adore those pictures, don’t you? anyway, head to the place where we made a terrible mess trying to bake a cake together!’

“THE KITCHEN!” he practically cheered, rushing towards his next destination. “good luck!” sero called out.

when eijiro reached the kitchen, he was met with an empty site. “erm… did i go to the wrong place?” he pondered, scratching the back of his head.

“oh kirshima! you made it!” kaminari exclaimed, popping out of nowhere. “here you go!”

he handed eijiro a bracelet with red and black beads with ‘eijiro’ written out as well as a red envelope. he immediately slipped the bracelet on before opening the envelope.

‘i’m glad you made it here because this is your fifth and final clue! i really hope this has been fun for you. now head to the place where the sky turns red like your hair (and where i realised i love you).’

he couldn’t stop smiling as he read your handwriting, his chest feeling warm at how much effort you’d put into this.

‘the rooftop…’ eijiro thought with a soft smile. he trudged up the stairs to his final destination, gifts in one hand and envelopes in another.

and then he saw you, surrounded by a small picnic and a jacket in your hand. “happy birthday my love!”

for a moment, he just stood there, eyes soft as the sunset painted your face in gold. then he was running straight into your arms.

he hugged you tightly, kissing your neck. “babe, this treasure hunt was so manly!”

you chuckled and pulled back slightly. “thanks. it took a while to set up but i’m glad it worked,” you grinned. “i love you eijiro.”

“i love you too y/n,” he said back with no hesitation. before he could say anything, you gave him the jacket in your hands. on the back was ‘red riot’ in big, red letters.

“i made it myself,” you said sheepishly. eijiro practically threw it on and pulled you in for another tight hug. “you are amazing!”

and then you both enjoyed your picnic, reliving memories and making some new ones!
