Tim stood up. “Uh. It’s doable? Probably?”
“You standing? Or the minicrowave?”
“Who’s there?”
“Harley!”
“Knock Knock!”
There was only so much time of your life that you can spend afraid before it’s like you just...die. Being afraid all the time is like not being afraid at all because you’re always exactly the fucking same. If Harley’s time with the Joker taught her anything. at all it was that her fear instincts were a jumbled ball of mixed up wires anyway. Of course, if she’d been afraid she didn’t need to be anymore because the Hand was walking the streets and she was the second in command directly under their new leader, who, she found, wasn’t as good at strategy as she thought he’d be. She kept her hair shaved, bleached out the dye, was Harley Quinn walking the streets once again and hell, she’d reclaimed her boardwalk empire.
Harley Quinn was back on the streets and walking tall and honestly she couldn’t give a flipping clown car about what anyone had to say about that.
She walked into the building and smiled a bit at the rush of warmth against her exposed face and hands. She raised the red tips of her fingers to her mouth and blew a warm breath on them, hissing at the slight sting. She turned, surprised, an apology already on her tongue when she bumped into someone.
“Sorry!” She smiled, sheepish. “I should have watched where I was going.”

“Actually, I– …I’ll get back to you on that, I need to do some research. I mean, the size of the microwave doesn’t impact on its heating capabilities, so I guess in that respect…but the wattage… I think if you minicrowaved it for long enough, it’d be the same temperature, but only if you converted the wattage to compensate for time. No, converted the time to compensate for wattage.”
…He was still on the floor.
“Okay but the wattage would have to be at a maximum of one hundred, one fifty if the person who created it was especially good, so the time to microwave something to get it to be the relative definition of the word ‘hot’ and not say, room temperature, would be over 150% of it’s full sized counterpart. Hmm. I don’t think anyone is that invested in giving mice a hot meal. Are you going to stand up or am I literally going to keep talking down to you? It makes me feel like a gross adult.”
“You’re not supposed to feed hot food to mice.”
“I don’t think the minicrowave can make the food hot, more like, no longer cold?”
“……………Yeeeeeeessssss……..? It’s a micro-microwave. It’s very small. Vee smol.”
“Yes the minicrowave, I hear it’s very popular, people use it for macaroons and the odd dinner for mice.”
“…I’m…looking for my…microwave…?”
“Your microwave. On the floor? And it’s so small you need to crawl? Whatever you say kid.”
“…In Death Becomes Her, they use airbrushes and paint?”
“That...is not make up, that’s airbrushes and paint, anyway, why are you crawling around again? Should I be hiding too? Did I give away your position to other people?”
“…Maybe you should try waterproof…”
“...You don’t know much about make up do you? I mean, waterproof isn’t the same as being napkin proof.”
Tim froze and looked up at her. Welp. That was her. “…Uh.”
“Don’t tell me I got somethin on my face? I doubt you’d know but wiping food off of make up? Not the best time a girl could be having.”
‘What is the answer to the life, the universe and everything?’
“Um...I feel like I got this one, just, gimme a sec.”
“Hello, babies..”
Though it was winter, with snow harshly falling down the ground, Ivy walked around the grounds of Central Park with her feet barefooted, and her verdigris barely covered by the outfit her children created for her. Her hands brushed against every trunk she passed through, waking them up and leaving a trail of healthy glowing trees whose light chatters brought a smile to her lips until she heard what they were saying.
‘Human..’
Turning around quickly, she glared at the shadowy figure a few feet away from her, cursing the fact that she was found.
“What do you want?”
Harley wasn’t exactly supposed to be walking the streets because blah, blah, blah bad things, blah, blah, blah, being caught, whatever. She hated being caught up in things and worse she hated being trapped somewhere so she was wandering around and she was enjoying what some people -- not normal people, but some people, would call freedom. She paused though, spotting something, someone she thought was familiar and when they turned around and faced her she knew she’d been right. The smile she pasted on her face was sharp and she called out, voice louder than maybe necessary.
“Well aren’t you a sight for sore eyes?”
James waited for a while, keeping with the breathing, keeping with the biting at the chain, keeping with pressing his thumb into his dog tags. Eventually, he looked over at her. “…Sorry ‘bout that…”
Harley gave him a soft smile when he looked over to her, meeting his eyes and shrugging, “don’t worry about it, we all have rough days. Some rougher than others but--” she shrugged. “No harm no foul right?”
Clark paused for a second before he told her, “It’s about the people that are coming out with powers, about how some of them are getting treated differently, and it’s extremely unfair.”
“Ah. Yeah, that’s, you’re either a hero or a villain, there’s no inbetween with some people, and if you’ve got powers and you’re not saving lives, you’re a ticking time bomb of super villainy, if you are helping you’re taking the law into your own hands.” She shrugs, “there’s no winning until people stop turning fear to hate.”
Tim couldn’t help it. He started humming the Mission Impossible theme.
“You’re not being too stealthy, but I guess you make up those points with style.”
You should! I suggest a silhouette of a girl punching something while reading a book,’ Ellie says, grinning.
‘Alternatively, would you like my phone number?’
“The first one sounds more fun but honestly I don’t know if I have the skill for that, so yeah, the phone number thing could work, if you wanted to be boring. Or if you’re hititng on me. You’re not right?”
