Today is a hard day. I personally have a lot of personal connections to Karen, from my dad's fatuation with her in the 70's down to us both starting new schools in 8th grade and joining band in the percussion section. Her voice and her words manage to reach to me on another level- because I can understand where a lot of her pain comes from. I know the ins and outs the disease we've both suffered with and how much self-hatred you have to experience to put yourself through it. About half a century stands between us and yet I feel closer to her each time I listen to 'I Need to Be In Love' than I do with almost any other person I've met.

I only hope that she rests in peace and that her story isn't forgotten. Rest in peace, Lead Sister.
