"I won’t let that man do anything to you, so don’t run away with your tail between your legs first thing in the morning." Severa opened the tent, ready to get out.

"We’ll meet a little before breakfast at the weapon’s tent." And with that she left his tent to get some rest. Hopefully Yarne would have gathered enough courage by tomorrow.

Yarne sighed and nodded a little, looking down rather than over at his leaving friend "I won't run..Its technically safer here than out there on my own anyway..even with a madman trying to kill me..Alright though..see you then Severa...sleep well"

"Well, well, playing the hero? But I suppose you’ve had the brunt of my anger.” Inigo continued to tease Brady, but decided that he had suffered enough and spared him by climbing off of him. Instead, he strode towards the other’s ‘partner in crime’.

"It isn’t that bad Yarne,” Inigo spoke, clicking his tongue. He had one of his hands behind his back, which was still smeared with both egg whites and egg yolk. “But I suppise I’ll forgive you. Shall we hug to make up?” He smiled pleasantly toward the other, stopping just a few feet away.

Oh, he was going to get some too.

"Yeah, well one of us has to, and you freakin’ suck at bein’ a hero," Brady said, smirking. The smirk melted off his face, however, when he noticed Inigo inching closer to Yarne, hiding an egg-covered hand behind his back and clearly intending to smear egg goop all over the poor boy.

"Oh, no ya don’t!" Brady cried, rushing Inigo and grabbing him around the waist, attempting to wrench him to the ground.

"Yarne, save yerself!" Brady cried, struggling to keep Inigo away from his target and getting even more egg on him for his trouble. "Use them rabbit legs fer somethin’ and run!"

Yarne retracted a little as Inigo came closer. The smell was even worse up close and he gagged a little as he shuffled back, still trying to maintain a distance between him and his egg and potential diseases soaked friend.

"N-no, I dont-"

Yarne shouted as suddenly Brady made the lunge toward Inigo, the action alone was enough to send Yarne racing away further into the woods, transforming as he did. Brady's words were drowned out by by the pounding of his own heart and his feet as they trampled through the underbrush and he disappeared quickly off into the dark.  Unfortunately the run was unknowingly driving him further from the safety of the camp than he would have liked.

Severa didn’t even bother to say something about his so-called allergy, because she was having none of that. She knew shaking was a natural thing for him to do, because he was unable to even gather enough courage to stop stuttering so much.

"We’ll talk to him first thing tomorrow, alright? It’s better to be done with it sooner or later, so… prepare yourself mentally for it."

Yarne swallowed and gave a small nod, trying to get himself together

"..Alright..Understood..Tomorrow morning....I guess thats enough time to write my will.." The last part was mumbled as quietly as he could and he sat back down on the edge of his bed

"Yarne…" Severa didn’t expect him to actually talk to Walhart himself, but she guessed he could somehow gather the courage to do so in order to protect his friends. If he would even consider Severa as a friend.

"Are you sure you can handle it? You’re already shaking." Severa sighed deeply. "Look, I’ll come with you, so nothing will happen to any of us, alright?"

"..T-the shaking's a condition...I-I'm allergic to situations where I could die.." He sighed, looking away "..F..fine..I guess I would feel better..if someone came."

Severa rubbed her forehead and thought for a brief moment. “If that guy is going around camp telling people that he will kill them then obviously someone needs to inform Chrom about it, right?” Perhaps he already knew about it, but it would be even worse if he didn’t do anything to solve the problem.

"But I’m not planning to let a man like that scare me. I’m not afraid of him." Surely she would change her mind, but she was getting fed up by all of this.

"N..no dont...I...I'll talk to him on my own okay? You dont have to..I'll work something out I'll-I'll do it, you dont have to.....I don't want you getting hurt instead...e..even if I might..die.."

Severa sighed in annoyance and was getting tired of running away all the time. How in the world was he planning to save their parents this way? “You can’t keep this up forever, Yarne. And I’m not planning to watch you run away with your tail between your legs every day.”

"If you’re really unable to talk to him then I will. You need to focus on your training and it’s not going to work this way." Yarne had to man up a little and become more confident in himself, but it looked like Severa had to do all the work again.

"N-no! You can't talk to him! Don't! I don't want him to try and kill YOU too! H-he'll think you're weak or something for standing up for me or just want me dead more b-because I couldn't stand up for myself...Just don't..don't bother okay? It doesn't matter!"

Gerome continued to inspect the pieces, dusting one off every now and then. A simple task or not, it was one he felt that Yarne had no reason to go through. Especially not for someone who treated him so coldly. He placed the piece on the ground, looking over to Yarne.

"I’m no less thankful. To make up for it, is there anything you could use my assistance with? It would be my pleasure to lend a hand. Or a wing, at that."

"Assistance? W-well thanks Gerome, but I don't think I have anything I need help with right now..I'm just happy to have helped you out..But..I mean I guess if I ever think of something I'll let you know. Alright?"

It wasn’t as if she was going to hurt him. Yeah, she might say what’s on her mind most of the time and she did act like a jerk, but she wouldn’t hurt someone without a good reason. 

"Don’t be stupid, Yarne. You know that won’t work. We can’t have you die in the first place, because we came here for a reason." Severa wasn’t sure what to think when he talked about death so easily. "Do I really have to drag you to him and hold your hand, so you won’t cry and run off?" She didn’t know anything about the man and yes, he did look powerful. He also didn’t seem like the nicest guy around, but Chrom let him join the army, so how bad could it be.

"D-don't drag me to him! You'll just be handing me over to extinction!"

Yarne scrambled up to his feet off his bed "I don't want to talk to him, I don't NEED to talk to him! I'll just keep doing what I do and keep trying to help our parents and keep avoiding him and i'll be just fine.."

Panne nodded, deciding to let Yarne’s pauses and stutters go unmentioned. She assumed that this news would be different for him to hear. She instead chuckled at his ideas of his own family.

"Right. With your children and my children there will be plenty of us. And imagine what it will be like once they have children. We’ve found a good place to stay and be accepted, Yarne… I’ve never been more confident for the future of our race.”

Yarne was quiet, letting his mothers words sink in, before giving a nod and a cautiously optimistic smile

"..You're right..There will be so many of us..and...certainly at least the Shepherds won't let anything happen to us..we'll have plenty of bunnies..i-it'll be..alright..." He sighed a little "..Okay mom..I won't worry so much..I can try to be confident too."

"You ran away from me when I was distracted…!" Severa frowned a little. Surely he also did that to stay away from her, she knew that even if he would deny it. She couldn’t believe how scared he was most of the time.

A sigh escaped her lips. “Did you try to talk to him again after he threatened you? I really wonder if it wasn’t just a misunderstanding. You probably even think that I’m as scary as he is.” Severa brushed a few strands of hair to the side. “You should just face him and make things clear. You won’t get killed with all of us here. I doubt he would be stupid enough to kill a soldier in this camp.”

"Why would I try to talk to him, he threatened me! He said he would drag me to the cook tent and cook me! You wouldn't cook me or kill me so of course I'm not that afraid of you...The only thing I have to be scared of you for is you making me do something or hurting me..I mean I guess you could accidentally kill me but thats the risk with everything..."

Yarne frowned and looked away

"I dont want to face him I dont need to be REASSURED that he wants me dead. I'll just keep hiding until he dies or I die or one of us leaves."

If Yarne was trying to stay quiet then he failed miserably. Severa could tell that she surprised him and that he was panicking. Even his stuttering made it clear. Perhaps she would be nice for now and go easy on him. It was rather late and Severa herself was too tired to get angry at him.

"Yarne." Severa opened the tent flap and stepped inside. "I’ve been looking all over for you. Why are you hiding in your tent? Are you that afraid of that man or are you hiding from me now?" It wasn’t as if she was hurting him. The help she offered was for his own good.

"Why am I hiding?? That monster of course! Were you not listening at all earlier about how he wanted me dead? You saw him!..I've been hiding like this for weeks, I'm not going to stop just because I slipped up earlier.." He sighed, looking away

"I'm sorry..I'm not hiding from you..I'm just trying to to stay alive..You were looking for me? What do you need?"

Pulling her hand back to her side, Panne shook her head. She had expected the poor boy to react this way.

"You have doomed nothing, Yarne. Your life is proof of that. There are two of us now, but the day you are born here… There will be three. And why would I stop there? I dream of starting a large family if I have the opportunity. I have yet to figure everything out, just like you. But you will. We both will."

Yarne stared blankly.

"A...large family?...I.." he looked down "..I never....thought of that..I'm sorry...You didn't have the opportunity..I just never thought....I'll have siblings..I..uh well..he...he will I guess...it won't be so scary..for him."

Yarne was quiet for a little while before looking at Panne again.

"..Yeah....we...we will..We'll figure it out...You'll have a big family..a-and I will too!...Somehow...W-well maybe not..too big..but big enough to make a difference..just..you know, enough that I can keep all of them safe all the time."

Taking the helmet into his hands, Gerome held it up and turned it a bit to see how the light reflected off it it. Under the dirt and moss hid a certain beauty to the pieces. He imagined Minerva in the heat of battle wearing such an armor; he knew it would suit her personality well.

He took the back plating with his free hand, and looked down at the pieces together. He may have had to chip in some money to have matching pieces made, but if they fit her he would be happy to do so.

"…You dug them out just to show me." He thought about it, appreciating the effort Yarne made for him. "Thank you. They certainly are nice… I’ll head to the nearest stream and clean them off this afternoon."

Yarne watched with nervous anticipation as Gerome inspected the pieces, lighting up as he thanked him.

"So..so you like them? I'm glad!..It uh..it really wasn't that much effort...diggings not hard when you've got big paws and claws." He smiled a little and looked down "I uh..I bet they'll look great..I hope she enjoys them."

Without giving a chance for the poor priest to recover, Inigo was on him in a second, rubbing his egg covered hands all over his face. “How do you like it when you’re on the other end of the prank, huh?!” 

It seemed that half way through the assault, Inigo himself was laughing. He had to admit, it was actually pretty funny when he was the one to initiate the prank, and not the other way around. When he was satisfied, he pulled back to survey his handiwork: both Brady’s face and hair were decorated in broken yolk and egg whites. He was as gleeful as a young boy at this point.

"Not so funny now, is it?" The swordsman grinned triumphantly, looking up to stare at Yarne who was panicking nearby. "Oh, hello Yarne. Would you like some egg surprise in your fur as well?”

Brady screeched with indignation as Inigo descended upon him, covering him with foul, sticky, slimy goop. “Aw, cripes,” he spluttered as he tried to push Inigo off of him. “It’s in my damned mouth! C’mon!”

Then Inigo began to laugh and the infectious giggles spread to Brady as well as he realized the ridiculousness of their situation. They were two foolish boys spreading eggs all over each other, and it was fun. Brady couldn’t help but laugh.

"You lay offa’ Yarne," Brady said, his shoulders still shaking with laughter as he rolled Inigo off of him. "This was all my idea, Yarne was just along fer the ride. Give ‘im a break, ya brat."

"N-NO-I, I mean no! I..I don't want that. I dont want any of that!" Yarne changed back, shaking and moving back to create more distance and completely avoid his egg soaked companions. In truth he was a bit jealous of the fun the two were SOMEHOW having in all this. If he wasn't having a heart attack he might have been jealous Brady had such a great friendship. Yarne whined at the gross mess that was his boyfriend and friend were, covering his mouth and nose with his hand.

"E-eh...You guys are killing my nose..I'm gonna be ill..You guys are gonna get so sick..that's so gross..."

Severa was quite stuffed at the end of her meal and she cleaned everything up, before she decided to find that taguel again. He was slowly starting to get on her nerves by running off all the time. She wondered if he was stupid enough to actually go to his own tent since the sun was starting to set. It wouldn’t hurt to check it out.

"Hmm…" Severa looked around near his tent, but there was no sign of him outside. Which she already expected. Now she was simply standing in front of the tent, wondering if it was okay to just barge in. What if he was undressing though… Severa shook her head and decided to simply call him and hoped that she could hear him. Being quiet wouldn’t save him. "Yarne, are you in here?"

Quiet was not an option.

Yarne jumped as his name was called, knocking his empty plate and bowl onto the floor. Yarne shrieked quietly, gathering up the dishes and shoving his journal away.

"C-come in?"

Severa stretched her arms when she was done with her training and necessary chores. Surely there were things to do in the evening, but for now it was time to have a nice dinner. The smell didn’t make her any less hungry and she didn’t waste much time to get her meal.

 It was rather easy to forget about Yarne as her stomach growled. Food was more important than babysitting the taguel at the moment and she couldn’t wait to dig in.

Armed with his dinner Yarne made incredible haste to his tent to settle in for the night. He sat on his bed surrounded by his food, taking his time to enjoy his meal. Another successful day of running and hiding...one more day he could chock up to the survival of the Taguel race.

He pulled a bound journal from his belongings, quietly writing by dull candle light while he slowly ate his meal.

"Oh, once I find him… He’ll be sorry for leaving." Severa muttered to herself in annoyance. There was no sign of the taguel and she had absolutely no idea where he could possibly hide. She did look around the tents, but Yarne wasn’t in his own. No one seemed to know where he was either. If only he would spend as much time on training as hiding from everyone, he wouldn’t have to be scared anymore.

Severa couldn’t help but give up after a while. She was only wasting her time and surely he would show up soon. Or not. He had been hiding for the past month and she didn’t remember seeing him at all. Who knew whether he was still alive or not. The only option for her was to wait until dinner. He definitely wasn’t planning to skip a meal, was he?

Yarne woke up a couple hours before dinner, as per his usual schedule. As it started to get dark he snuck out of camp and ran around training in the woods near camp before the smell of dinner wafted far enough out to reach him. Dinner time.

Still a few minutes ahead of the dinner bell Yarne snuck back into camp, rushing ducked down through camp, heading to the cook fire.
