My Roman Empire is and will probably always be the time when I quit my 9-5 corporate job and bought that one way ticket out of the country because I was just so fed up with my life…
And in all honesty, this is the first time in my life where I’ve actually lived life truly on my own terms where I’m supporting myself, and truly felt the freedom I’ve always wanted- buying one way tickets between countries more or less when I feel like it. I’ve had so many life changing moments and met some of the most amazing people in the process. I’m grateful for this time away from home.
I took myself to those faraway lands, riding through the desert, sitting around the campfires, hiking through the mountains, slept in yurts and in magnificent hotels filled with magnificent decor and smelled the spices wafting through ancient bazaars. I gave myself evenings I’ll never forget. I became the adventurer I always wanted to become, I became the girl who had the freedom to pack up her life and wander from place to place, city to city, on her own accord. Ten years ago, I wanted nothing but to be free - like a vagabond really, and I became her. I accomplished my dream. I lived the “nomadic” life that I had wanted.
And most of all; I became the queen of my own little inner kingdom, wrote my own love story and fell in love with this little life for the time in forever. I became my own Prince Charming to my own Cinderella story.
I complete myself.
