The distance that i used to train for is now my training distance. Not easy at all but definitely worth it. #darkereverykm #thefinishlineiMperative #teamJMP #smarttri

Ironman 70.3 Training - Day 1
Kids, DON’T DO THIS AT HOME.
Five months ‘til the big day and here I am -- as frail and as limp as someone who hasn’t swum, biked and run for the past 4 months, in a swimsuit and ready to take that first step (again) towards that coveted medal.
The workout:
200 warmup easy 200 paddles 8x25 (10secs rest) - css 4x50 (10secs rest) - css 2x100 (15 secs rest) - css 200 cooldown
...for a total of 1200m. It looked easy or so it seemed.
The Pool
Yes, we (my triathlon teammate and I) had that pool to ourselves. :)
As quoted from my teammate, “That was a warm up that needed a warm up.” My shoulders were burning. Core strength was zero resulting to a very wobbly swim. My (left) lazy arm felt like it just had to stay in the water and sleep in. Out of breath and out of fitness, nevertheless, we finished the workout, .
This is going to be a long 5 months. Yet, this is it... no more room for just lazing around. This is the Finish Line Imperative.
