The raider just quietly laughed, taking one more swig and shook his head. “I’m sure you think you’re very amusin’, big boy.” Pembroke replied, running a hand through his hair to get it out of his face. Texas way? He’d only been as far down at Capital Wasteland or… So he knows. Trying to split what was false memories and what was reality had been… Difficult. Either way, he wouldn’t know where Reese came from. Just take his word for it.
“Short on caps you can bunk at the very top of the Old State House, but you might as well say goodbye to any privacy. Hotel Rexford on the other side have decent prices if you don’t mind some old coot tryin’ to sell you home made drugs.” Pembroke said, giving a vague gesture towards each building he mentioned.
“Oh no, not really,” he said, “Just friendly, I’d reckon.”
He felt so out of place in a relatively packed place like this. A country boy through and through, open fields and sparse populations were more his type. Bars and city-type settlements nestled in the rubble felt foreign.
“I figure I can afford the room. As long as I can say no t’ the ol’ coot then I say I’ll be mighty fine to stay in that Hotel Rexford, as y’call it.”
