i see a lot of people try to claim that spike is a little brother to twilight but i will always see it as a mother son dynamic , if u watch “once upon a zeppelin” i feel like twilight saying “my parents” and the fact spike didn’t come shows that he was never twilights brother (as twilights parents never saw spike as their own) but instead twilights adoptive son plus how she essentially raised, taught and cared for spike the entire series

i lowkey hate how so many people are hating on the live action avatar series. i’m not saying it’s good but when you constantly compare to the og avatar tla yeah it’s gonna look like something that just came out of your ass, cause almost nothing can compare to the og atla, and personally i feel like live action remakes shouldn’t be one to one retellings because at that point why not just watch the original

the og scooby doo, the first live action movie and mystery incorporated are some of the greatest pieces of fiction ever.

i just finished mystery incorporated and holy shit. i feel like after the og it’s the best piece of scooby doo media period. it has the perfect blend of the slapstick cartoony dialogue and animation while adding a new deeper sense of mystery and complexity. i think compared to other pieces of media only gravity falls is able to match the perfect blend of amazing humor and mystery that make it engaging to all viewers. i love how it reimagines the main five but still manages to keep the original charm of the original show. fred is a bumbling bimbo but still is complex pushing the love between him and daphne deeper and his fun quirks. shaggy and scooby are still animated gluttons but add on to their feelings of romance. daphne is still a feminine (more traditional) female character but they add so much depth with her feelings towards fred and make her (in my opinion) the funniest character in the entire show are arguably the most relatable too. velma becomes a nerd like always but i feel like they show the antisocial aspects of nerds more clearly and make her interesting. i feel like mystery incorporated adds the perfect amount of three dimensional character depth to all the main cast while still keeping the almost corny and lighthearted humor of the original.

i’ll admit that i grew up on this show so it has a special place in my heart but i think on so many levels it’s simply the overall best reboot of the series. not only does it create an intriguing overall story arc, but it has witty writing and amazing art.

the art in this show is outstanding to me. it still has elements of the original hanna barbera style while adding scenes of color palettes that are beautiful to look at. i love the art style so much in this show and i think it works perfectly with the tone the show is trying to set.

i could gush how much this show is amazing for forever ( i’d didn’t even mention the references and odes to other great writers like HP Lovercraft and Harlan Elison) but if you haven’t seen it all the way through i suggest you do. not only is it a great modern saturday morning cartoon it’s a great show with noteworthy storytelling. it’s not perfect but it’s on my list of all time great cartoons that i think everyone should watch.
