âYou consider machines, your children?âÂ
This human was a curious case. He certainly didnât show much hesitation in sending five such machines to their destruction at her own hand, nor did he seem to particularly mind her using them for spare parts. If he did consider his creations his children, it was probably a good thing he didnât have any other, smaller, more dependent organics running around.
As the workshop doors opened, suddenly, a lot of things made a lot more sense. Well, no, not really. Actually she was more or less forced to point out something that made no sense.
âYour security system, can be fooled, by wearing a hat?â No wonder it had been insufficient for stopping the one soldier whoâd taken this place over before.
âIâd show you the pictures I keep of them in my wallet, but I lost the darn thing in the escape.â
Pictures of Bass? If only he could bring up the recordings of the little brat getting thrashed by Mega Man. Those always lightened his mood after any extended period of time with his so-called greatest weapon.
âAs for the security system...â She was no Mega Man, he could tell. Far too sharp. Heâd need to be more careful with his words if he wanted to pull her onto his side.Â
âItâs targeting parameters were tampered with, unfortunately. The monster that attacked me was a fiend, a brute, a violent behemoth, hacking into my defenses and through my loyal creations just to get to me.â
Wily cast his eyes to the floor and clenched his fists.
âTo think someone would build a machine to spread destruction and sow chaos, itâs nearly unthinkable!â Pinching the bridge of his nose, he faked a sob and shook his head in mock disbelief.
âThe dawn of machines was a turning point for mankind, to better ourselves and the world we live in. Can you imagine, building a robot that can think, act, feel, experience, only to toss it away in some senseless destruction. Itâs,â he paused for dramatic effect,Â
âItâs akin to murder!â
And cut.Â
Reminder that Wily has a punching bag with Bassâ face printed on it

âWell, get it over with then. I donât recall Thomas and I giving him proper protection against terminal velocity impacts, but I could be mistaken.âÂ
âI wonât be doing that again.â
âBy Newtonâs Law of Conservation, how did things end up like this. Me, the brilliant and intellectual Albert Wily, forced to running and hiding in a castle. And you, the most significant contribution to all of robotics, left second fiddle to a pretender and a charlatan.âÂ
*Brilliant! Iâll have her over as soon as I can! Iâm really excited, to be honestâŠ
*she jumps up and down, smiling.*
âTake your time. As eager as I am for this meeting of the minds, the decor around here could use some rearranging, but by all-means, let me know whatâs a good time for you. I can see it already, two minds, pushing through all known scientific barriers, for the betterment of mankind.â
And in the good doctorâs mind, the best progress that could be made would be seating him on the throne of the world, in control of everything and everyone, his judgement as the deciding factor for one and all. Â
Holy shit. Holy shit.
âWhat do you mean you donât have any children?! You have two! I know you do, Iâve met them! Some father you are! Who the frick forgets their own flesh and blood? Their own metal and oil?â
Wait for it...
âI said watch your potty-mouth, young lady! And we both know I don-â With a sudden bout of realization, the good doctor scowls, his face curved into an unsavory scowl. Â Â
âBah! Bah! Those arenât children, you overdeveloped calculator! Those are highly efficient, highly maintained, highly sophisticated weapons of mass destruction! They arenât children.â Least of all his children, if he ever wanted to admit to that.
âOr you could start making sense, but maybe thatâs asking a little too much. And Iâll start worrying about Bass when he learns how to turn his head properly.â
âI donât owe you anything more than another shot at humiliating yourself in front of Mega Man!â Some weapon you turned out to be.Â
âMaybe because he knows that this doesnât actually do any harm? Unlike you, who lets your hecking kids do harm all hecking day!â
âDonâ bring my childre-â
Wait for it...
âChildren? I donât have any children...â
âAs if Iâd waste my time catering to a child! Bah!â
âThat doesnât answer my question at all.â
Some genius you are.
âHow about you make us both happy and stop asking question that donât revolve around destroying Mega man. At this rate, Bass is going to get to him before you even polish your shades.â Not that he believed Bass was capable. Â
*She was involved in something to do with spaceâŠbutâŠI know nothing on the subjectâŠaside from the fact she built my sisterâŠgave her some sort ofâŠspace manipulation technology. Really far out stuff⊠*she smiles* *I bet sheâd love to meet you. You seem really nice.
âThen itâs settled! Iâd be more than happy to give Ms. Iota a run of the castle, maybe reserve a private room just for the meeting! A probable space engineer would be welcome to aid me in designing robots for less hospitable environs, not to mention the potential for conversations.â
Heâd need to find a corner of the castle that didnât look like a medieval torture room, but with so much castle, there was bound to be some place suitable for a normal conversation among normal people.Â
âWhy is it like that though? I would understand human society better if it made any god damn sense. And no offense, but maybe if your plans werenât so awful I would actually be able to get something done for once.â
For the same reasons youâre an annoying little brat.
âIt just is. Thatâs just how its always been, and itâs a little too late to start changing things now. You should listen to me more, then youâd already now things like this.â Â
Unfortunately, yeah. He does. Thatâs the whole reason he sticks around, you know.
âSo youâre mad because sheâs a girl?â Was this a human thing or just a Wily thing? He really couldnât tell sometimes. âHonestly, thatâs really stupid, doc. Even for you.â
âI donât expect you to understand the nuances of human society. I canât even expect you to do the one thing youâre good at, either! But believe-you-me, when I say that a young woman should be straying far from vulgarities! Itâs just the way things are! itâs how theyâve always been!â
The most brilliant mind on the planet is this guy? And heâs stuck 40 years in the past.  Â
Doctor Wily! I came to warn you of a horrible vigilante headed your way! His name is frank castle, and he has a reputation for killing and torturing people like you!
âRight. Because one man can waltz through an army of robots and traps too sinister for even the most hardened, most experienced, most diligent soldier. If my castle can handle Bassâs childish tantrums, Iâm not worried.â Â Â
@numbskullduggery ( X )
âYouâre really starting to get senile, arenât you old man? I say worse shit than that all the time and I havenât heard you complain once. Hell, I learned most of this language from you.
I bet youâre just mad because Roll outsmarted you.â
You think he listens when you talk?Â
âThis isnât about you and your glooming about the castle! A young lady shouldnât be uttering such foul verbiage, period. Itâs obscene! We have rules around here, and those didnât disappear just because you decided to start falling apart.âÂ
The archaic âA lady should behave as suchâ mentality rears its face. Â
