is it rude if i ask why you and others think of bass as dark-skinned/black? i dont mean to sound offensive, i will never argue against poc representation, bass just feels kind of like a bad call there? hes not exactly the best person around, to say the least. that is just from the perspective of some uneducated white teen tho, so im not trying to talk you out of it. just gain some more perspective of my own.

It’s the same reason as cases like Piccolo or Knuckles or Bumblebee or Ahsoka. Fandom blacks know how to spot one of our own.

Besides, whether or not a character is “good representation” isn’t dependent on whether or not the character is morally right, but on whether or not the character is compelling in a way that resonates with fans of the media, black or not. And Bass does! He remains a popular character despite most of his appearances in the series being in games everyone agrees are kind of shit. He’s fun, he’s loud, he’s energetic, his personality and design are unique to the series, and if we’re real, if we’re really really real, dark skin just matches his colorscheme better.

Besides, his design is canonically supposed to mimic that of ya boy Rock, who is also black.

I think my favorite thing about dogs is that they can, in fact, perceive the tone/mood of music, just as they can with human voices.

I think the best part about this is that there was an actual academic study done to find out what music dogs preferred, they set it up by kenneling dogs and figuring out which kind of music caused them to be more relaxed in the situation, and they found out that most dogs prefer soft rock and reggae.

He probably really digs it.
