i live sketched lady day at emerson’s bar & grille a few weeks ago when it came on hbo. forever crushed i missed seeing it on broadway, but thank goodness hbo had the benevolence to air this version. the whole thing blew me away. just when I thought I couldn't love all things billie and audra more. stunning and heartbreaking portrayal.
