Side jobs for nurses? Any recommendations?
Driving past the hospital on your day off
When your shift is already shit and you pick up a glucometer that needs QCs
Back From the Dead
tap tap tap...is this thing still on?
I know I posted a few posts ago (years ago) that I fell off the tumblr world and that I was starting a new job in the CVICU. Well, I’ve been in CVI for over 3 years now...shit is WILD. AND, apparently every other type of nurse hates CVI nurses, who knew? Anyways, do you guys still want to hear from me?Â
When you send an email to your coworkers about needing to switch a shift and no one responds
When we are down 3 nurses, charge is already in staffing, theres no help in the entire hospital, then 4 admits pop up at the same time
my extremely needy and over-dramatic patient when its been 15 minutes since i was last in their room
when your favorite frequent flyer is back
I’m back, help me.
I’ve fell off in the tumblr world, I sincerely apologize for that. I’ve spent the last two years learning the ins and outs of the floor I am now leaving, the best cardiac step down floor ever. I’m moving to the CVICU in a few short weeks. Transitioning into critical care when your comfort zone is tele is nerve-wracking. If anyone has any tips, tricks, insights to make this transition more seamless, send them my way!
When I give my diabetic pt a regular gingerale instead of a diet one
Switching from Meditech to Epic
When a patient calls me in because they have to go to the bathroom and they’ve already shit on the floor
When you successfully disimpact your patient
When someone blatantly walks by a patient’s room who’s call bell is going off
I LOVE your page!! Do you have any respiratory therapist stories?
I’m sure I do! I’ll post as many as I can think! Thank you for dealing with secretions and suctions and all the stuff I can’t stomach at times!
I'm becoming a CNA next semester, and then applying to a nursing program. I'm very nervous. I lack self confidence and feel I screw up everything. I'm worried I won't get accepted or I won't do well in school. Any tips?
You have no idea how many things I screwed up in school and still do even now. You get out what you put in. Work hard and sleep hard. You’ll find your place in the nursing world baby nursling, but until then, dive into anything and everything you can get your hands on!
Damn it
Sorry I left you all hanging. I relocated to another hospital, no longer work night shift, and still have no idea what I’m doing. I’VE MISSED YOU.
