just a routine physical exam happening here. bending over part is standard procedure, i don't make the rules 😊 what's your temperature looking like today, patient?
me walking out of a traumatic case like i'm just going to make coffee: desensitization. year one you're shook. year two you're numb. year three you realize numbness is actually just trust in your training and your team. the bedside manner stays. the fear goes. it's a trade-off.
i'm gonna tell my patients: every time they're nervous about a procedure, their nurse actually cares whether gloves feel better on or off. it's a small detail but it matters. comfort isn't extra. it's basic.
so here's what people don't realize about real appointments: intensity = results. i'm a nurse. i know human anatomy inside and out. when i work you, i'm not guessing. i'm using training, skill, and clinical knowledge. yes, you might whimper. no, that's not a bad thing. that's your body responding to real work. you'll feel incredible after. always.
night shift thought: seamus is such a specific name to discover rhymes with something so spicy. and i had to keep it together.
literally i have two things that help with stress relief and an entire cooling system built in but patients will look me straight in the eye and cancel their appointment. what is the FEAR
people ask 'where do y'all source donations' and i've been dying to just say it: they're real. no props. no performance art. no costume roleplay. actual scrubs, actual hospital unit, actual gratitude from actual healthcare workers who are tired of fake narratives.
So.....what's the last you had an exam? 😉
bedside manner doesn't just mean being nice to patients. it means knowing your job so well that you trust your instincts. and after enough night shifts, your instincts are *chef's kiss*
nurse life is 10% drama 90% tiny moments that reshape somebody's idea of care. i caught one of those today and i'm still smiling about it.
nursing teaches you fast that laughter in the dark is the mark of someone who's seen it all and survived it anyway. the scrubs, the stories, the bedside manner that actually works. real nurse. real life.
Bedside Manner Breakdown: Why Your Night-Shift Nurse Is Both Caring AND Non-Negotiable About Your Medications. Because nursing school taught me that small decisions compound. You take this pill. You sleep. Tomorrow you're better. That's the whole story.
12-hour night shifts hit different when you know what's waiting for you at home. real nurse, real mornings, all mine. ☀️😘
the pressure is right when you know the technique. real nurse energy in scrubs. sometimes the small moments, the questions, the confident answers, are what make patient care click. precision, confidence, care. that's the job. #nursecosplay #nurseaesthetic #medicalfashion #scrubslife #healthcarecontent #nurselife #confident #patient-care #real-nursing #medicalskills
One thing about me....I'll always have my big cup with me when I walk in for my shift 😂
Nursing can be really long stressful hours...sometimes you just have to take a moment for yourself and just let loose 😋
