“I feel inspired by mixing my favorite influences. I love 70s style, 90s grunge, and a little East Coast prep. So anytime I put together an outfit, I want a little bit of everything to show. I’m wearing a navy shadow striped wool-silk blend in a structured shoulder, double breasted jacket and wide leg trousers. I layered with a white tee and vintage Drake’s cardigan tucked in. To top it off, I wore a patent leather Chelsea boot to channel my inner rock star.”

My style is inspired by so many things, I love to be on theme and we were celebrating Earth Day. In this photo it was nature. My sweater was a fever dream's sunset and my bag: a flower, together invoking a pleasant day in a wild meadow.”

“Everything is thrifted: Kapital denim overall that's too big for me to wear as overalls, but work really well as denim chaps when cinched at the waist with my belt. The belt is made by myself. My jeans I found in a thrift shop with no name or tag attached – but clearly made with a lot of love. The top is a Kapital indigo dyed kimono jacket. The shoes are Onitsuka Tiger. I've been a preschool teacher for the last 5 years, and I take a lot of inspiration from the kids themselves and a little bit of Magic School Bus. I try to combine making fuctional wearable art with things that make the kids in my school smile and feel inspired to be a little weird and out there. I used to show up in suits and ties – and then one day one of my students showed up in a full Clifford outfit and it shook my core. What was I even doing, haha? So now I try to stretch imaginations with a lot of thrifted pieces or handmade things by my wife and I.”

“My looks are always a curated mix of color and texture inspired by a focal piece. I created this palette around the fabulous green heart bag made by my friend and neighbor Alegrias Art, combining a locally thrifted 90s Roughrider top with striped earrings gifted by a bestie. Color-blocking contrast was achieved with my mom’s pre-loved yellow trench, periwinkle tights from Amazon, and a velvet blue skirt from Vers BK monthly clothing swap. I added light pink Docs – found them on Gem! A bittersweet replacement for an identical over-loved neon pink pair. And finished it off with a Kangol raspberry beret, shout out to Prince! I’m a tropical island transplant who loves living in NYC and is obsessed with drag, anime, costuming, and anything theatrical. My colorful style is fueled by these vibrant themes that move me.”

“I’m wearing a two piece set from Mars The Label, a shirt and corset I thrifted, my jacket is from Primark, my boots are DC and my bag is Juicy Couture. Everything and everyone inspires me. I take a lot of inspiration from my childhood (My Little Pony, The Last Unicorn, Rainbow Brite, etc). I’m alternative in every sense of the word. I love bright colors, lots of accessories and latex. I like challenging the norms that society puts black women in and for that very reason I leave the house everyday looking like a cartoon character.”
