Bucket Cabbage Farms
Establishment When the original Puritan settlers came to the land, a family with a particular surname came along. The Bucket family. They picked out a decent piece of land by the river and started a cabbage farm.
Downfall Up until 1900, the farm was doing well for itself. Then, that chocolatier came along. Not Willy Wonka, no. Not yet. But still some rich city-slicker with chocolate that was so delicious, it seduced the entire town into abandoning their cabbage patches in pursuit of making the much fancier delicacy. Except for the Buckets.
No matter what, they stuck by their farm. It never recovered, not even after the city got destroyed by two homosexual (Well, one of them insists he is a "bisexual," whatever that means.) idiots arguing about one thing or another.
Shutdown Mr. and Mrs. Bucket were the final generation of farmers. When Charlie Bucket took on the apprenticeship under Mr. Willy Wonka's wing, they were immediately supportive of their son. They were given a better home in the Chocolate Factory and stable food that was more than cabbage soup and bread.
As such, they entrusted the land to Willy Wonka, who built a new farmhouse and generally renovated the land. The farm survives in name only, now being a community space. Cabbage farmers can rent it, but it is also a venue for markets and community events.
The farm is considered a protected piece of historical importance. It's safely preserved so Ganachefort won't forget its cabbage-based roots, even if Charlie's distant ancestors may not recognize Ganachefort as the city they started.
