A very brief guide to different interesting-looking angels.
I love the Biblical descriptions.Â
(in descending order of rank in the angelic hierarchy)
Seraphim (singular âseraphâ) are described as having six wings; two used to cover their face, two used to cover their feet, and two to fly. They also have a strong association with fire and may therefore be depicted as being on fire.Â
Cherubim (singular âcherubâ) have four faces: one of a man, one of an ox, one of a lion, and one of an eagle. They have four conjoined wings, each of which are covered in hundreds of eyes. They have the body of a lion and the feet of an ox, and human hands.Â
Ophanim (singular âophanâ), also known as Thrones, are two adjacent blue-green wheel-within-a-wheels with hundreds of eyes covering their rims. They are also on fire. Ophanim often house the souls of Cherubim, and are therefore usually seen accompanying them.Â
Dominions, also known as Hashmallim (singular âhashmalâ) or Lordships, are the only angels described as appearing as beautiful humans with a single pair of wings.Â
Virtues, then Authorities, come after Dominions, but neither are described in any detail.
Principalities, also known as Rulers, are described as wearing a crown and carrying a scepter of light. Not much description of their physical form is given, however.
Archangels have been frequently depicted as winged humans, but Biblical reactions to their appearances suggest that their real appearance is much more terrifying.
Angels, the lowest and largest class of angel, are described as having immensely varied forms, and so may come in all shapes and sizes,
Itâs also worth remembering that most angels, in their true forms, are immensely large, and in some cases it would take several yearâs journey on foot to travel from the top to the bottom of one. Also, most angels are quite luminous, and some are outright Lovecraftian in that gazing upon them may lead to blindness or insanity. Â
And this is why they had to constantly tell people DO NOT BE AFRAIDÂ
I love you my guardian angel đŒ
If youâre gentle in nature and in your pursuit of Jesus, thatâs okay. If you approach him with internal confidence but a quiet voice, thatâs okay. We promote warriors and boldness and we cheer for those who run hard and fast, but we have forgotten to remember you; the one who walks with quiet footsteps, but also steps with a silent assurance. The one who enters His gates with a thankful heart and praise on their lips, but does not shout for the sake of being noticed and heard. Your nature is beautiful to God, and your prayers are like sweet golden honey. You speak with a quiet authority and walk in the direction of His path for you without question or the need for assistance. There are no bells or whistles or sounds to alert others of your faithfulness; just the pure distraction-free sound of your committed and unwavering heart. We are not all born as hurricanes and whirlwinds. We are not all living as rushing tides or sweeping rivers - pulling all that we touch in our direction. You are not any less because you are soft and gentle. You were born as a whisper, God breathed and intentionally crafted. He designed your intricate thoughts and delicate touch, and lit the fire within your stomach that wells up into your soul. It is not that you are less than those who bring volume; you are simply designed to relate to the weary wanderers, who are hesitant to follow the lights and the noise. You are the sewer and the gatherer who delights in the harvest, but does not take any credit for their storehouse. You are content in waiting patiently for your Father to speak, and you are in tune to the tones and the pauses in His voice. You notice those who are alone or unsure, and approach them with acceptance and consideration, and welcome them in. You are beautiful and authentic. People experience your heart before they capture your name, and recognise the Kings reflection in the depths of your eyes. Your gentleness in your pursuit of Jesus is purposeful. He formed you in likeness to Him. Embrace yourself. Your influence may go unnoticed by man, but youâre certainly not missed when you enter the throne room of God. You are integral, vital and important just as you are.

When you begin to feel guilty about rest, your identity has gotten wrapped up in your accomplishments. Beloved, you are more than what you do.
Set My Heart on Fire
"Lord Jesus, set my heart on fire for you that I may give freely of the gifts, talents, and resources you give me, for your sake and for the work of the Gospel." Daily prayer is courtesy of Don Schwager (c) 2016. Dan's website is located at www.dailyscripture.net
We need to fall out of love with the need for human approval and acknowledgement. We need to fall out of love with the desire in our hearts to be noticed and praised. We were not designed to pine for the validations of others, but for the validation of One, and One only. We desire to be close to the King, but instead of applying the necessary daily disciplines, we put our earthly wants ahead of our spiritual needs, and allow ourselves to become focused on that which will soon fade away. The deeper we seek after the adoration and affections of man, toiling, performing and creating for the praise - the deeper we dig our hole, and in turn, distance ourselves from the relevance and necessity of God. Weâre a tag focused generation - more interested in how trendy something is instead of how much we genuinely like it. We are a generation chasing the quick fix, rather than patiently seeking a long term impact. Weâre a group of people fixated too intently on finding the next big thing, eating at the next hip cafĂ© and posting the next popular quote on social media platforms, to gain whatever validation it is we are hoping and aiming for. When did we become so caught up in this ego-stroking pattern of reliance and dependence on all the wrong words from all the wrong places? When did we lose our sense of holy worth, and start playing hide and seek with God and His promise that He is indeed, enough? Weâre on the fast burn track to burying ourselves as a generation who lent to hard on the opinions of strangers, and swayed too far from the truths of His word. People will come and go, their views will bend and waiver.. So why do we put such great emphasis on doing, being, seeing and living for the acceptance of something so fleeting and temporary? Itâs time we set our sights on something more eternal than being what we believe others want us to be, and start grinding our gears to reach the potential that God knows we have within us. We are called to place emphasis on His thoughts and His ways. It is in focusing on doing our best and being our best for Him, that we lose the shackles of performance, and start to live an authentic and influential life.

âLord Jesus, you have the words of everlasting life. Help me to cast aside all doubt and fear so that I may freely embrace your word with complete trust and joy. I surrender all to you. Be the Lord of my life and the Ruler of my heart. May there be nothing which hinders me from trusting in your love and following your will.â

Ladies, let him work for your heart may there be trials, hot schorching summers, brutal long winters, parched deserts, heavy floods, before he can say he stole your heart. What he considers an easy quest will result in a temporary, not respected affair Rest your heart in Christ and the right one will cross endless seas for you and your heart, because he sees your eternal value as Christ does, and that is you being worth pursuing despite the cost

"Lord Jesus, you alone can satisfy the deepest longing in my heart. No other treasure can compare with you. Keep me free from all discontentment, possessiveness, greed and selfishness, that I may have joy in knowing that you alone are my true Treasure and my Portion." The 5 habits of the girl who wonât give up
1. She gets up each morning and follows through with her commitments despite how she feels. Her feet are firmly positioned into the dayâs tasks. While quitting may seem like an option she refuses to become someone others or God canât count on. Her heart understands that she must be found faithful in the small steps to be trusted with the big steps.
2. She approaches the Word of God with reverence. She opens Godâs Word and believes each day He has something to speak to her about. Thereâs no questioning spirit when a friend texts her a Bible verse. She listens to sermons and teachings and doesnât think of the friend who needs to hear that message, she knows thereâs something there just for her . 3. She longs for the grace of refinement rather than the grace of relief. She doesnât have a personal agenda to fulfill when she faces steps of refinement. In fact, she longs for the grace of refinement rather than the grace of relief because she trusts the process of refinement. She accepts the perspective godly people offer her in difficult situations. And she embraces the process of becoming better through her mistakes.
4. She chooses to infect the world with joy. Though life seems to frequently dump on her, she chooses to not dump on others. In fact, she thrives on being emotionally generous towards others. The spirit of generosity that oozes through her infects joy into a seemingly miserable world. As a result, when darkness seems to gloom over her she can easily shoo it away by giving joy.
5. She has a spirit of unbreakable determination. Though she may feel a little [or a lot] bent many days, she never lets her bending turn to a broken dream. She refuses to break her perseverance towards the things God has placed her on this earth to do. In the midst of her rejection that attempts to break her she thrives by standing firm on this verse: âCreate in me a pure heart O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.â âPsalm 51:10
Let nothing disturb you Let nothing frighten you All things are passing God only is changeless Who has patience gains all things Who has God wants nothing God alone suffices -St. Teresa of Avila
Dearest Lord,
Teach me to be generous
Teach me to serve You as I should
To give and not to count the cost
To fight and not to heed the wounds
To toil and not to seek for rest
To labor and ask not for reward
Save that of knowing
That I do Your most holy will
âI would forsake a thousand other days anywhere If I could spend one day in Your courts Belong to You alone My strength is You aloneâŠâ
-How Lovely is Your Dwelling Place
Have you been praying and believing for something thatâs taking longer than you thought? Many times, people can miss Godâs best simply because they give up before they see their answer come. Donât let that be you! Be encouraged today, your answer is closer than you think. If it seems like things are getting more difficult, remember, when the intensity heats up, that means you are closer to your victory. It always seems darkest just before the dawn appears.
Friend, remember, you serve a faithful God. Know that He is working behind the scenes on your behalf. Donât cast away your confidence today because your reward is coming. And just like a new mother forgets about her labor pain when she is finally holding her newborn, youâll forget about your struggle when you are holding your promise.
While you are waiting, keep an attitude of faith and expectancy. Wake up every morning and declare, âIâve come too far to give up now. My due season is coming. I will reap my harvest.â Stay in faith and be on the lookout because He has promised you victory, and itâs closer than you think!
