[Theory] Is the Oblivion queue-line device a Particle Accelerator?
Before i dive in [pun intended], let me state the obvious - this is a theory with a few lore based points, this is in absolutely no way confirming this is the canon function for the device or anything, just to make sure xP remember to take this as just another theory interpretation out of the many other cool theories out there, not some sort of strict rule.
Okay okay, on with the actual theory now
So, when you enter the Oblivion queueline, one of the things you see is the planetarium projector, which was repurposed as some sort of scientific device/equipment for theming.

In-lore however, there is no clear purpose of what this device is, nor any of its functions or purpose.
then i got thinking, maybe there could be some connection here plus the fact that it's in such a specific place...and then while surfing through various IRL types of devices and experimentation it hit me.
the Planetarium device is a Linear Particle Accelerator.
now, let me explain the similarities:
-Particle Accelerators are machines used for research in areas like Physics and the study of particles as well, but they also have other uses besides such.
-They're built underground.
-Their shape looks just as device-y as the planetarium device, even quite similar if we compare both.
-They work by using electromagnetic fields to propel ions at very high speeds and energy in beams.
-Particle accelerators aren't just two colliders, some can be Linear. the latter to be precise are one-way and are usually composed of an electron cannon in one side and the other being the linear parth the beam from the cannon goes through.
-a VERY common fear back in the day with particle accelerators was the accidental creation of massive Black Holes due to the collision of ions. these hypothetical black holes caused panic as they were feared to be destructive. of course, this has been very much disproven - and even if it was possible, they wouldn't last even a second and would be relatively harmless.
Now if we pick all of these things up and compare these machines with the queueline device, we notice they are quite similar with one another.
-I mean, its the Oblivion queueline XD one of the main themes as a ride is being an experiment where you're a test subject being plunged down into the void and references to physics are inserted all over the ride theming and the queueline videos w/the LoD - need i say more?
-The planetarium device is divided in the same exact parts as a Linear Particle Accelerator, a "cannon" [1] and a path with a similar panel-like structure in its opening [2] , plus the bunker surrounding it being also composed of pillar supports...
-...and of course, you're in X-Sector, where there's an entire underground facility underneath.
-Oblivion generates a LOT of electricity, likely implied to be produced by the test subjects that are plunged down. and well, particle accelerators also require a handful of electricity/an electromagnetic field to properly function and if we connect one to two then this means that a part of this electricity is also likely being used to some extent for the device.
-The device is also heading one way only, just like linear particle accelerators do.
-Back to Oblivion, considering oblivion is THE ride of the void and to some extent black holes, then with what other reason would the device be taken into account? and if we take the whole fear and even actual hypothetical scenario inside of physics of particle accelerators creating black holes due to the collision of the ions it fires...there you have it! considering we're talking about X-Sector here, there's a chance they managed to tinker around with the planetarium device enough to convert it into an ACTUAL BLACK-HOLE MAKING PARTICLE ACCELERATOR.
-One of the first sneak peek promos for Oblivion was this image of what seems to be two hole portals with a beam going through them, which i curiously find interesting considering that both seemingly appear "out of nowhere" in what seems to be in middle of the sky or even some sort of other type of space or atmosphere. ALSO notice how the upper side is like a pulsar-like beam shedding or "cracking" in with the beam while the other more cosmos/black-hole one is like absorbing-opening through it? as if the beam of something was making the breakthrough to the other hole or even creating it, akin to the whole thing of the beam-collision of a particle accelerator making a black hole.
The only remaining question is - what is this device specifically being used for or moreso, what is the role it plays either with Oblivion or X-Sector as a whole.
Personally speculating, its either being used as some sort of oblivion electricity harness - specifically a "doorstopper" to keep the oblivion void open/active at all times OR to create more black hole wormholes inside of such - or is a separate black hole creator mini-project of some kind all-together.
