The first thing observed was the people sat outside the cafe at this time. I counted 6 woman above the age of 50 together around 2 tables pushed together, a man and woman sitting next to them, 2 older woman next to the man and woman, next to them was another man and woman, then a group of 4 with 2 men and 2 women, sat next to the group of 4 was another couple, out side the cafe there were no seating left and I observed that every single person sat outside the cafe were drinking coffee / tea / hot chocolate. Every customer sitting outside the cafe looked over the age of 60, apart from one who looked around her early 50′s. I observed people going in and out of the Royal bank of Scotland and the bank of Scotland which are both situated across from one another where I observed, a lot more people used the Royal bank of Scotland rather than the bank of Scotland. Many people were taking money out from the ATM machines. Observed a lot of small children and families, in my hour of sitting in my observation spot I counted a total of 46 buggies with small children in, these buggies were a mix between twin and single. In the first 5 minutes of me sitting on the bench a older woman came along and sat her bag on the bench and fetched for her glasses and her purse and then carried on walking. a lot of people standing outside bank and Primark in the hour sat observing, majority on phone and one observed on a phone call. I witnessed one man standing for about 20 minutes outside the bank and then he moved from the bank to a bin. One woman dressed in a formal black dress. A woman with a buggy and two children sat down on the bench behind me, one man walked into the bank of Scotland and quickly left with nothing in his hand. Observed the same security guard that I had saw the previous 2 times while observing. Observed young girls shopping, and saw a lot of primark shopping bags. Older woman sat on bench next to me, another group of girls shopping and had primark bags. I observed a woman and man together with easter bunny ears on, looking confused as to where they were going. One of the people with a buggy that I observed found a seat outside the cafe and sat down and got coffee and 2 scones, they had a young boy and an infant and were accompanied by what looked like grandparents around the ages of 50 +. Observed the cleaner going by twice, she stopped next to me and sweeped up a Mcdonalds monopoly sticker that was on the floor. Woman carrying flowers. Heard a small boy cry from round the corner, I then observed a second security guard stood outside the royal bank of Scotland talking to two woman. In the hour of observing outside the cafe only 2 woman entered from the doors I was sat infornt of, I didn't see anyone enter through the other doors, there was no young teens sitting at the cafe. The next thing observed was a woman walking by in workout clothes, at this point I observed the next primark bag, and then I noticed a woman coming out of the bank with her purse opened and looking at a recipt in her hand which she then put within her purse. Then the woman sat behind me with two smaller children met another woman and got up and left the bench all together. Observed another primark bag. The other woman sat on the bench at the same time as me met another woman and left together, in the hour I observed 4 young couples holding hands. I observed a man using his e-cig outside of the cafe as he walked by - this is not permitted within the centre. As the previous times visiting the centre I observed small children, teens and even older adults taking pictures of the lego statues placed in the Livingston centre, ( after doing some research I found an article explaining why the statues were here - https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/local-news/lego-fans-treat-easter-centre-14236375 ). The next thing I observed was a younger boy playing with the tiles on the floor, trying to avoid certain ones as he walked holding hands with what assumed to be his father. The next woman sat down on the bench. Older couple outside of bank reading something of an A7 piece of paper, looked like the man was reading it out to the other woman, they then walked off together and the man out his arm around the woman. Observed a woman inside her purse getting money. The woman who sat on the bench then met up with another woman and walked away together - she met another couple. I observed one of the woman with a buggy outside of the Primark shop opening what looked to be a packet of crisps and giving it to her child in the buggy. Woman walking to the cafe with young boy holding a leaflet saying ‘dragon hunt’, after reading the article linked above we can see why she had this. Dad and 2 small children, he was holding their hands and walked by me 3 times as I sat on the bench. Small children with primark bags, 2 men in plumbing work wear. Observed 2 woman - one holding 2 pillows in packaging and the other woman was holding 2 big primark bags. One of the couples sat outside the cafe ordered scones with jam. Older woman and two younger girls walking out of primark with bags.
Next I observed a young boy kicking about a football and then picking it up and carrying it after his mum and dad gave him a row. Man and woman leaving cafe. man speaking to woman who controls the kitchen island. 2 men sat down on bench behind me and waited for a woman and then left. girl mid teen standing waiting with headphones in while drinking smoothie. 1 woman walking into cafe, didn't see her leave so she may have left via the other door. waitresses from the cafe coming out to serve people and clear tables for next people. Woman with walking stick sat down next to me on the bench for 3 minutes and then got up when another couple were leaving a table outside of the cafe and took their table. Man in shirt and waistcoat. Woman walking by twice, both times on her phone reading something and she carried a Greggs coffee cup by me twice. Another couple sitting outside cafe ordered scones with jam. Man and woman splitting up... man sitting on bench while woman goes into the bank and then she came out and they went off together in other direction. Man with security equipment going into royal bank of Scotland and 5 minutes later he left. 4 army cadet boys walking by in army uniform. Woman with bag and tennis racket. Woman holding Greggs pasty bag and holding hands of smaller boy - assuming to be her son. Another woman holding subway juice cup. Woman with a push trolley had a tube to aid her breathing - she sat on the bench behind me. By 11:23 am I was the only one sat on the bench.
