😱 Favorite trope in movies?

So this is a weird one, and there is probably a better and more succinct way to say this...

So you know in movies where one character is transforming into some other (usually darker) version of themselves.  That last moment of control where they say something like “I’m so sorry”, or “get out” or something to try and help the people who will inevitably be caught in the path of the beast.  And then they finally succumb to the dark force/true nature/etc...?  Yeah...I love that.
