"Well what kind of coffee would you like. We have lots of flavors and good ones. Shock Lightning is one. We also have Shadow Knight. Blazing Dragon, Aqua Shot, and Sky Bird," She offered up some of the options for different coffee drinks. "My favorite one is Shock Lightning. Thought I'm biased on it,"
She had to admit the other's words made her chuckle. "Secret just for you huh? Maybe, but something to note is this is the City of Adventure. Knighthold, where you will always find a adventure, and some kind of adventure to go on. It was the point of this city. Thought wonder what is the secret you'll find?"
Kairi let out a light laugh, the sound like wind chimes catching a soft ocean breeze. āShock Lightning, huh? Sounds like something Sora wouldāve dared me to tryāso Iāll take it,ā she said, a playful sparkle lighting up her eyes as she leaned on the counter, fingers gently brushing its edge.
The scent of roasted beans and paper was oddly grounding, and for a moment, she let herself pauseātruly pauseāin a way she hadnāt in days. Maybe weeks. The kind of pause that let thoughts catch up with her heart.
āI guess I came hoping for something new,ā she said softly, gaze drifting to the shelves and cosy corners of the tavern. āNot just a place to restā¦ but a place where I can keep moving forward. Somewhere I donāt have to look over my shoulder.ā
Her smile returned, a little more certain this time as she met Ellenās eyes. āThis town has a feeling to it. Like maybe the adventure doesnāt have to be loud to mean something. Maybe it just has to begin.ā

Xigbar -Luxu he had to get used to being called Luxu again- carefully adjusted his mask before he headed out. It was a slightly different design than his companions, somehow less elaborate and more so at the same time, and it was hard to tell if the animal visage was supposed a goat or some kind of horned lion.
What made his mask the most distinct from the others however, was that it was designed specifically to cover up the giant scar on his face; the scar was a dead give away to his identity and there were just too many people in Twilight Town that he did not want knowing that he was still kicking.
Not yet.
So he exchanged his eyepatch for the mask, and upgraded his Black Coat. In many ways, it bore now bore a closer resemblance to the robes worn by the Foretellers, but if one were to look closely, underneath was the trademark Coat. No one should be able to recognize him.
Still, when Luxu glanced out the window of the Old Mansion and saw Kairi of all people making her way towards house, his first instinct was to quickly draw the curtains closed and disappear into the shadows of the empty mansion until he could figure out what Kairi was up to.
The trees parted gently as Kairi passed, her fingertips brushing leaves damp with evening dew. Twilight Townās forest always seemed to breathe with its own rhythm, and tonight, it thrummed faintly beneath her bootsālike a heartbeat half-remembered.
She didnāt know why sheād come this way, not exactly. Only that something about the Old Mansion had tugged at her since her arrival. A whisper, a pull, an echo of something buried deeper than memory. Her gaze flicked toward its looming frame between the branches, shrouded in ivy and quiet.
The air near it had changedāthicker, maybe. Tense. She couldnāt see it, but she felt itā¦ like eyes vanishing behind a curtain. Still, she pressed forward, boots sinking into moss and soil as she whispered under her breath, āSoraā¦ if you left any trace behindā¦ Iāll find it.ā She didnāt notice the silhouette behind the window vanish. Didnāt notice how the shadows stirred just a little too long after she passed.
But the mansion was watching her now. And something inside was waiting.
