People who think it's pretentious to like, for examples Japanese movies from the 60s are wild because, for example, High and Low is a genuinely fantastic and accessible film. Or Norwegen films from the 50s because Winter Light is an accessible story about the failing romance between two people, its like the fucking marriage story but WAY WAYYYY WAYYYYYY better. Just watch black and white movies and watch non-english language movies or at the very least don't hate on people who do.
