I’d still love you, If the world stops spinning If heaven and hell tear us apart If you ever forget me I’d still love you, If I find out you weren’t made for me If these years in my life were nothing but a lesson If we were just a bad dream Darling, I’d still love you, If I never hold you in my arms If I never hear you speak I’d still love you, If one day I love another and If you don’t love me, I’d still love you

Why don’t this have more notes
The lack of positivity surrounding Black Americans has launched a wave of empowering social movements over the years, including Black Girl Magic and the online community of Black Twitter.
Now, Emory University is giving students the chance to study the positive impact of African-Americans loving ourselves with its “The Power of Black Self-Love” course.
source
Dr. Stewart’s course explores the theory and practice of Black Love
Lynette Dixon, a senior majoring in women’s, gender and sexuality studies and political science, kept a journal of personal reflection on self-love and examined the theme of suicide indicates a failure of self-love or the supreme act of self-love.
#BlackLove
This is not a degree program and regardless of what degree these students are pursuing, they still have to satisfy their general education and elective requiremts which require some stem or liberal arts classes. Sometimes people don’t have the resources or the motivation to do stuff on their own so a class might be their only means…
it’s one class. Therefore they can still major in fields where the market is competitive…

I want to go!!!
My school needs this course ASAP
@ South Africa, y’all paying attention??
Even youth started to take a stand against injustice. ✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾
I haven’t seen anything about this on my dash, so I just want to draw attention to Anniesa Hasibuan, a Muslim designer who presented a glittering line of hijab-wearing models at this year’s New York Fashion Week.
Above are a few looks from the line; you can find more at this link and at Anniesa’s Instagram. Here’s the designer herself, glowing after her success!
Tomorrow is September 11th. If you see somebody being Islamophobic toward Muslims or non-Muslim Arabs and Sikhs, don't stand by and do nothing. Shut that shit down!
✨Happy blackout everyone ❤️👏🏾❤️👏🏾✨
If you needed some inspiration
Hi, guys! So many people have asked me how I was able to “Glo,” so I thought I could give out some tips that have helped me throughout my journey:
1. Self-Love
Self-Love is underrated and so important in the process of gloing. It’s not always easy to love yourself fully and completely, but once you figure out how, you will be able to muster up confidence that will have you still fucking with yourself even when everything isn’t perfect. Go about your day knowing that you are a person worthy of love and respect, and that diminish your purpose. You are the only person who owns your mind, body, and soul, and like everything, they prosper with love.
2. Self-Care
Another thing that tends to be joked about is “treating yourself.” We tend to say these things, but then engage in things that are unhealthy. When it comes to food EAT THINGS THAT WILL NOURISH YOUR BODY. I can not stress that enough. It’s okay to indulge in unhealthy things every now and then, but fill your diet with fruits, veggies, protein, and drink water (work up to a gallon a day.) Unhealthy foods tend to weigh you down and make you feel sluggish. When your diet becomes fresher, you feel lighter and more enabled. Not to mention you’ll smell better too. (Toxins are often found in many unhealthy foods we eat which expel from our skin and don’t smell the best!) Of course work toward getting 7-9 hours of sleep a night, wash your face, brush your teeth, wash your hands, do your hair, clean/ clip your nails, and trust me you’ll feel a lot fresher. Your body will thank you. Exercise at least 30 minutes a day as well! People tend to think exercise is draining, but when you work your way up to a goal, it becomes easier and even fun! You’ll want to exercise every day. You only have one body; take care of it.
3. Self- Indulgence
When I say this, I don’t mean to be conceited. What I mean is do things for you sometimes. Many of us tend to do a lot of things for the sake of others, but forget about ourselves, and that’s not fair. Take a day to do what you need to do to clear your mental space, to rid yourself of underwhelm. Read your favorite book, bake a cake, take a walk, hell, sleep! You are a person, too, and deserve moments that are strictly for yourself. Don’t run on E, your body won’t respond well and push you to do unhealthy things. This piece also includes my make-up wearers. Obviously I’m wearing make-up in the bottom row of pics (but trust me, I still look and feel a lot better than the top row lol).
4. Self-Patience
Go easy on yourself. Take your time. All good things come to those who work for it, but also do it on the universe’s time. Everything you work for won’t come in a day’s time. My “glo” took me around eight years. It wasn’t fast and it wasn’t easy, but don’t rush it. You’ll miss out on the key components that make up your newer self. The process is about learning and growing as well. Take experiences and shape yourself with them. Don’t take them, whether their good or bad, for granted.
All in all, the “glo” process is not about what you see all the time, but what you feel. You will feel stronger, smarter, more confident, prouder. Your head will not be held high because of your physicality, but your mentality, your spirituality. Your soul will feel better, and that’s what I think glo’ing truly is. Both your body and character will reflect that.
This has been another post of “Dimps’ Tips”!
I hope I was able to help you all some!
reblogging again for the steps of the GLO UP
The Year of The Blerd
The word “BLERD” is short for “Black Nerd.”
And this cosplay edition is for blerds!
There are so many critics, haters and racists in this sphere, so sometimes it is hard enough to represent yourself if you are black!
Cosplay is about dressing up as your favorite characters, and it doesn’t matter what is your skin color or body type or who the character is so long as you enjoy it!
You don’t have to disregard your blackness to embrace your geekness!
