While they had taken some time to do so, Ash, Sun and Blake eventually made it to the house of the Menagerie leadership: Ghira and Kali Belladonna. This was likely going to be difficult, as Blake had explained that she and her family hadn’t parted on good terms to say the least. What’s more, she was returning home with two boys in tow. Granted, only one was her boyfriend, but even so. Still, as they approached the house, Ash put a hand on her shoulder, saying, “Blake…if you’re sure about this, then I promise, Sun and I have your back, alright?”

"But I was!.. I believed what Adam was doing was right.. he made me feel like everything I said was wrong.. Back at Beacon.. h-he saw me leaving as an act of betrayal to the White Fang.. and leaving him.. and promised pain towards those I cared about.."

Blake looked down to the floor; hair covering her face, eyes welling with tears. It had been some time since she thought about Adam, or at least thinking about what he did to her. She had escaped that life a long time ago, but the mental scars remained. Blake never told her parents, let alone her own team; about what she experienced that day, now she was telling her father about it. She was at first hesitant and scared of his reaction. But Blake felt he deserved to know, even if she didn't know what his response would be.

"My team.."

It made Blake smile, knowing she had people that cared about her. Doing her best to ignore the pain in her ankle, Blake watched as Ruby sped off into the academy; the petals fluttering behind her. She knew how fast Ruby could be, so Blake knew it wouldn't be long before she came back.

Which got Blake thinking, where was Weiss in all of this? Had she known what had happened to her, or did she even care that she went missing? It made Blake question it for a moment, but she didn't want to assume Weiss would think that way. Blake couldn't help but worry about her, considering how she was the only one not there.

"Yang.. what about Weiss?.. does she.. know what happened..?"

When Blake saw Yang, it brought a smile to her face. After being in that hole for what felt like ages, being back at Beacon was definitely a sigh of relief. Then when Ruby asked her sister for help she agreed, but in a way that neither of them anticipated.

"Yang what are you-"

Blake yelped out in surprise, she certainly wasn't expecting Yang to grab her like that. The gesture at first freaked Blake out, but once in Yang's arms she felt safe. Normally she'd object to such things; but with the situation she was in, Blake was in no position to argue. She let Yang carry her towards their dorm room, with Ruby following behind them.

Blake waved to them before following her father inside, sitting beside him on the couch in his study. Before Blake could say anything, she noticed that her father's expression changed. He began apologizing to her about his involvement in the White Fang, and how things could have been different. She hated seeing her dad like this, blaming himself for past mistakes that were out of his control.

Giving her dad a gentle nudge, Blake put her hand on top of his. She also harbored guilt from her past decisions, not knowing whether or not they were the right ones. Blake was headstrong but soft spoken much like her father, so she eventually found her way out of that darkness. Blake didn't know what to say at first, but decided to at least say something. She responded quietly to him, with a soft tone that he always used to calm her down.

"Dad.. it's okay.. I was young and naïve.. I didn't want to listen.. I was trying to do what I thought was right.. I learned the hard way how wrong I was.. I called you and mom cowards.. I-I thought you would hate me.. but you didn't.. "

Blake appreciated that Ruby was trying her best to cheer her up despite the pain the former was in; it was something Blake had always admired.

Blake had listened to how Ruby found her; how the team grew worried when she didn't return. Blake smiled, knowing how close the team; her friends, had become. She also heard Ruby talk about how impressive it was the way Blake fought in heels. As they reached the school grounds; where Yang was seen waving at the duo, she gave it some thought for what to say.

"Hm.. never really.. t-thought about it.. guess I got used to it over time.. d-definitely twisted my ankle more than once.."

"O-Okay.. thank you.."

With that response, Blake carefully leaned herself against Ruby, keeping the ankle slightly off the ground. It still hurt to put any weight on it, so Blake hoped that she wouldn't be too much of a burden. Quickly shaking the thought from her mind, Blake took a look at her surroundings.

She wondered how long she would still be in that pit if Ruby didn't find her there. Then it dawned on Blake, how did she find her? She was almost afraid to ask, but curiosity got the better of her.

"How did you know where to find me?.."

Blake nodded as she took hold of Ruby’s hand, using them to pull herself out of the hole. When she took a step, Blake winced in pain, but tried not to make it obvious. She didn’t want to burden Ruby with having to help her, so she attempted to brush off the pain.

“I-I’m fine..”

Ruby presses square to dobut. “Are you sure? We’re teammates, we help each other right?”

“You’re right.. sorry.. I-I think I sprained my ankle.. it hurts to walk on it..”

Yang sat in silence for a moment, he felt regret letting her sit beside him like this… with the awkward tension and everything that had happened, he was still upset at her fornjust leaving, vanishing without a word. The team they  had formed, it wasn’t as important as their friendship, yes he cared for both, but in a realistic mindset Yang had to see the bigger picture for once.

Blake was his friend… keyword was, however he still didn’t want to let her go, or never forgive her… deep down, he knew her explanation would make him feel better, or so he hoped.

After a long silence, Yang spoke up first, however still facing the window as forest scenery passed them by, “ so… how about you start with where you went? ” he turned his head some, catching glimpse of her fromm his peripheral vision.

The two sat there in silence, each trying to think of what to say. Blake’s ears perked up when she heard Yang speak to her, as if in surprise that he was even talking to her at all. When he asked about her whereabouts, Blake stayed quiet for a moment, tears starting to silently slide down her face, trying to keep her composure. Blake wiped her eyes, retelling the story still brought her feelings of guilt back. Too afraid to look him in the eyes, Blake brought her knees to her chest, wrapping her arms around them, and began to tell her side of the story.

“Well..after..what happened to you at Beacon..I felt it was my fault for it all..I stayed by your side until you were taken home..the guilt I had felt became too much..I thought..that by leaving..it would keep you all safe from his wrath..I went on a ship back to my home in Menagerie..to not only see my parents but to sort some things out..I was under the impression..that you and the others hated me for leaving..I wasn’t expecting to be forgiven..at least not right away..I-I don’t know about the other two..but I see you’re still mad..I-I’m..sorry..for everything..”

The longest sigh did flare his nostrils hearing all this, seeing tears stream down her face, watching the emotion swell and release with every word and expression. Turning towards her fully, the blonde did pull both his remaining and metal arms around her body, pulling her in tightly for a hug he’d deep down long waited for.

“ I think that’s really all I ever wanted… ” he spoke as soft as his normally cheery voice would allow him to whisper, “ and honestly… it’s all I need to hear for right now. ” Arms cinched alittle tighter, a gentle squeeze as to signify that he wouldn’t be letting her go, quite literally and emotionally ever again.

The hug for Blake was at first unexpected, but once she felt his embrace and the warmth that came with it; she gladly reciprocated. Blake remained quiet, burying her face in Yang's shoulder, letting out muffled sobs.

She too had waited for a hug like this, but thought it would never happen again. Though hearing Yang's words reassured Blake that things would be alright between them. To signify she understood what he said; and to let him know that she heard him, Blake gave a squeeze back in return.

“Huh?” No doubt realizing the look on his face and feeling some semblance of sheepishness, Ghira replied, “Yes, e-everything’s alright, Blake. Sorry. I just…” He trailed off, then asked, “Do you…do you mind if we talk in my study after this? There’s just something I’d rather discuss in private.” It was clearly something he’d prefer not to discuss here, not while they were celebrating the fact that Blake had returned to them.

Blake continued to look at her dad with concern, given his response to her inquiry only deepened it. He then asked a question of his own, which made Blake curious. What was it that had to be talked about behind closed doors? They say curiosity killed the cat, but Blake wanted to know what her father wanted to talk about.

"Hm?.. Sure thing dad.." She looked over at Ash and Sun, who were both watching quietly in the background. "You two stay here.. we shouldn't be long.." With that Blake started to walk with her dad towards his study.

He and Sun sat at the table, both of them gratefully accepting the tea, Sun using his tail to lift the cup, which he stopped after receiving a disapproving look from Ghira, and Ash drank from his own, occasionally smiling tenderly at Blake, then back at her parents. He was glad to see that for her, the reunion had more or less gone well. While Ghira still seemed suspicious of Ash, he could tell that his daughter was happy with the younger man at her side, so instead of focusing on the fox, he turned his attention to Blake. Though he was still obviously happy to see her again, there was also a barely-concealed look of guilt in his eyes and in the way he spoke, deliberately avoiding the topic of her leaving. That could wait. Right now, he was just glad to see that she was alright.

It was the first time in a long time that Blake felt truly happy, being with Ash and her family like this. Finishing up her tea, she would then rest her head on Ash's shoulder, nuzzling up to him. Though the serenity was short lived, Blake opening her eyes to see her father with a sad look on his face. She could tell that something was bothering him, but didn't know what. Almost afraid to ask, but curiosity getting the better of her, Blake looked softly at her father.

"Is everything okay dad?.."

Did it pain him to see her like this ? More than he would dare to let her know… but his resolve at being upset , in his mind , was justified. Whether he was right about the situation or not didn’t matter to him, all that mattered was the pain he felt waking up alone.

“ Blake… if you trusted us, I mean REALLY trusted us, then you would have stayed knowing that we could through everything together, ” a pause, feeling his arm begin to shake, his lone good hand covering solid golden paint, stopping the subtle tremor. “ – and I don’t want to hear a thousand ‘I’m sorry’s because that doesn’t do it for me. ”

He turned in his seat now, one leg propped up on the chair between them as he held both a metal and a still normal hand out, palms facing up and hands open. “ What I want is for you to promise you won’t leave again, no matter what. ”

What could she say at this point, everything she tried seemed like a losing battle. Blake wanted to show Yang that she was to be trusted again, though she knew it wouldn't be easy. She had to start somewhere, and what better way than speaking from the heart.

"B-But.. you were hurt because of me.. it was my fault for what happened to you.. so I ran.. ran like I always do.. I didn't realize that by doing so.. I ended up hurting you more.. I-I.. know no amount of apologizing will take back the pain and loneliness you went through.. a-and I don't blame you if you don't want to forgive me at all.."

Blake paused, shifting over to place a hand on top of his left one; doing her best to look him in the eyes despite tears streaming down her face.

"B-But I promise.. I'm not going anywhere..."

Beacon, one of few Academies where students go to train to become Hunstman. It was the first day for the newcomers as the airships had come to dock, those who are new had come out with a sense of awe in their eyes. One, however, stayed behind so he didn't get stuck in the large swarm of people who had come here. He wasn't nervous about the first day of school, no. But it was more along the lines of being around those, if they find out what he is..

Adjusting the black eyepatch on over his left eye, Crimson sighed as he begun his descent of the ramp taking into his surroundings silently. All he needed to do was find the auditorium for the orientation, not run into anyone, and that's it... He took a deep breath and sighed out, combing his silver and red hair back with his hand as the single silver eyed student made his descent down the ramp and further into the courtyard, now looking for a guide of some kind to point him towards the Auditorium.

It had been quite the long trip, but Beacon Academy was finally within sight. Quietly watching as the airship landed, the black-haired girl waited for the doors to open. Taking in the scenery, Blake slowly sauntered down the ramp, keeping to herself as she went. She hoped this would be an opportunity to start fresh, free of past judgement and transgressions.

Blake now found herself in the courtyard, working her way to the main building for orientation. Figuring she had some time before it began, Blake pulled out a book that she brought with her, and started to read it.

she was certainly talkative… alittle unlike the Blake that had left so long ago, his eyes did make a glance her direction to check for sincerity, but quickly gazed away, back to the window. “ m'kay. Well – I do hope you found whatever it was you were looking for , ” Yang somewhat coldly stated, though it was somewhat toned to be a question he was really in a vengeful mood.

She didn’t know what Yang was thinking about, they hadn’t spoken like this in what felt like ages. Though Blake could hear it in Yang’s voice, he still held a grudge for what happened at Beacon. Ears flatten against her head, knowing that she was unintentionally responsible for what happened to him.

Blake didn’t know what else to say, feeling whatever she said wouldn’t change how he felt. She spoke softer now, guilt continuing to well up inside her. Though she tried to keep a stoic expression for the most part, it was starting to falter.

“I-It doesn’t matter what I say, does it?.. You still hate me.. ”

Emotions mixed in with irrational thoughts flooded his heart, and Yang was never one to hold his tongue… no matter what she said he would still be upset, and in his mind he had every right to be. For once, Yang thought before he spoke however… the clenched fist on his longer pants loosened up, and his golden brows began to slowly unfurrow themselves.

“ … I don’t hate you Blake, ” he suddenly said, without a second thought… there had been so much they had gone through together that hating her was not an option and he knew it… thinking back to every paranoid and post traumatic moment he had gone through at home.

“ … I am just – ” he paused trying to think about his words, hands on his knees both of real and of metal. “ – you think that , no matter what I say I’ll still hate you, but I don’t. The reason I am so angry is because no matter what I say– ” he set his hand to his chest, closest to his heart, now able to meet golden iris’s with his lilacs, “ – you’ll never consider trusting us to protect each other, all of us, Weiss, Ruby, and me. ”

"Y-You don't?.. After everything I did?.."

Blake did her best to stop herself from completely breaking down in tears, but it wasn't working. Rubbing her eyes as more tears fell, she continued to listen to what Yang was telling her. So that's what it was? Yang didn't actually hate her? It was just a matter of trust? Blake could understand why he felt that way, she hadn't exactly been around much after the Fall of Beacon.

"I-It's not that I don't trust you.. I do.. I trust you three more than I thought I would trust anyone.. It's just.. past experiences have made it hard to trust people.. I know I've had a hard time showing it.. I-I'm sorry.."

Ghira broke his stern gaze as Blake hugged him, again smiling tenderly at her. Hearing her suggestion, he briefly looked at the guests in question, then replied, “I suppose it couldn’t hurt.” Kali nodded in agreement, no doubt glad that Ghira had been able to keep himself composed. Following the Chief inside, she ushered Blake and the other two into the house.

Ash gladly received Blake’s hand, smiling at her lovingly. He was still rather nervous, being in the home of his girlfriend’s parents, but he felt he could get over that soon enough.

Once they got inside, Blake's mom led them to the dining table. She made sure that they were all comfortable, before grabbing the tea tray and headed toward the kitchen. Minutes later Kali returned with piping hot tea, a kind she knew was one of Blake's favorites. Setting it down in the middle of the table, she too sat down next to her daughter and husband.

"Enjoy everyone!" Kali exclaimed, reminding them also that it was still very hot. With that in mind, Blake carefully took hold of one of the teacups. Taking a small sip, she couldn't help but smile at how it tasted, it reminded her of home. And having Ash by her side made it even sweeter.

Initially, Ghira looked at the two young men with visible suspicion, which caused Ash to gulp, but still he stood straight. A low grumble could be heard in his throat as he looked at the manner in which the pair held hands. Raising an eyebrow slightly, he gave a sigh. “I suppose I should give credit and thanks where it’s due, since you’ve helped bring our daughter home safely.” His large hand stroked her hair with fatherly affection more tender than it should have been. “And you as well, Mr…” “Wukong, sir. Sun Wukong.” Almost immediately holding out his hand to shake the chieftain’s, he soon shrunk back and cleared his throat as Ash winced. The whole time, Kali peered from behind Ghira, sheepishly mouthing, “Sorry,” to them.

Blake could tell things were getting awkward, she figured it would be when they arrived. So in an attempt to break the ice, she came up with an idea.

Though Blake's thought process was interrupted when Ghira stroked her hair, leaving her speechless. It brought Blake back to when she was a young girl, when her father would frequently do so. Blake was an only child, so her father was naturally protective of her. So she understood why Ghira acted the way he did, he was only looking out for her.

Wanting to change the subject, Blake put her idea into motion. Briefly letting go of Ash's hand, she went and hugged her father, squeezing him tight. Once she let go, Blake took Ash's hand and led him inside along with Sun.

"Come on dad.. let's go inside.. I'm sure our guests would like some tea.."

After a long silence, Yang spoke up first, however still facing the window as forest scenery passed them by, “ so… how about you start with where you went? ” he turned his head some, catching glimpse of her fromm his peripheral vision.

The two sat there in silence, each trying to think of what to say. Blake’s ears perked up when she heard Yang speak to her, as if in surprise that he was even talking to her at all. When he asked about her whereabouts, Blake stayed quiet for a moment, tears starting to silently slide down her face, trying to keep her composure. Blake wiped her eyes, retelling the story still brought her feelings of guilt back. Too afraid to look him in the eyes, Blake brought her knees to her chest, wrapping her arms around them, and began to tell her side of the story.

“Well..after..what happened to you at Beacon..I felt it was my fault for it all..I stayed by your side until you were taken home..the guilt I had felt became too much..I thought..that by leaving..it would keep you all safe from his wrath..I went on a ship back to my home in Menagerie..to not only see my parents but to sort some things out..I was under the impression..that you and the others hated me for leaving..I wasn’t expecting to be forgiven..at least not right away..I-I don’t know about the other two..but I see you’re still mad..I-I’m..sorry..for everything..”

she was certainly talkative… alittle unlike the Blake that had left so long ago, his eyes did make a glance her direction to check for sincerity, but quickly gazed away, back to the window. “ m'kay. Well – I do hope you found whatever it was you were looking for , ” Yang somewhat coldly stated, though it was somewhat toned to be a question he was really in a vengeful mood.

She didn't know what Yang was thinking about, they hadn't spoken like this in what felt like ages. Though Blake could hear it in Yang's voice, he still held a grudge for what happened at Beacon. Ears flatten against her head, knowing that she was unintentionally responsible for what happened to him.

Blake didn't know what else to say, feeling whatever she said wouldn't change how he felt. She spoke softer now, guilt continuing to well up inside her. Though she tried to keep a stoic expression for the most part, it was starting to falter.
