shiftinganger:
Trust had never been Helena’s strong suit. From the time she was eight and she had first been adopted to now, she struggled to trust anyone outside of her family and even that had been an uphill battle for the first few months. “I’m not exactly known for my patience.” Despite her desire to get closer to Romy after everything with Theo, the usual anger within her. (She wondered if it was something she would ever get over or if one day it would not linger within her at the thought of Romy and the lies.” She swallowed, forced her anger to the back of her mind. “I can give it a shot. Maybe.”
“i think i know where you got that from.” she didn’t mean her. much as it would have been easy apply such simple comparisons to them, romy often looked to helena and saw her MOTHER moreso than she saw herself. raven would have been some kind of influence on her, if she had raised her. romy just wasn’t sure if that would have been a good thing, or a bad one. “that’s all i want, helena. and it’s as much as i deserve. if you could try...- then i’m happy.”
