Alexander chuckled along with her statement, raising his drink in a toasting manner “I think that’s the key, not understanding and being okay with it. I stopped trying because it made me tired” the agent shook his head at himself, only to shoot his companion a grateful grin in response to her next statement. “Thank you, Aanya. I also enjoy your company, it’s nice seeing you away from the precinct and the uniforms and the…rectitude of it all. If you ever need a drinking buddy, you’ve got my number” the blond offered with a smirk. “I’m fine, I’ll probably grab something with my roommate once the party’s over” he shrugged, afraid the food might not agree with his already upset stomach. As the brunette told him how her night had been so far, Alex lifted an eyebrow playfully, nudging her gently just as their drinks arrived. “Nice. I’m glad you’re having fun and meeting new people, Aanya. Did you like this handsome fellow Kai or are you still looking forward to meeting more people?” he questioned with a smirk that quickly vanished once the spotlight was on him. With a sigh, he took his yellow bracelet out of his jacket. “My love life… how much time do you have on your hands?” he chuckled, shrugging “It’s— there’s someone, I was too conflicted to choose red, but it should’ve been red.”

Aanya smirked back to his offer about being her drinking buddy. “I’d love for you to be my drinking buddy and just my buddy in general,” she responded, giving his arm a gentle squeeze with her hand before letting it fall to her side as they waited for their drinks. “Yes, I did really like him, he seemed wonderful and even though he was wearing a yellow wristband, I couldn’t help but flirt and he was flirting back,” she said, flashing a grin his way before her eyes spotted their drinks. She handed him his and took hers as she listened to his words. “I’ll always have time for you, Alex. Tell me everything, I want to know. But first-,” she held her drink up and clinked it against his. “Cheers to a great night, my friend.” She raised the glass to her lips and took a sip before licking her lips and smiling.

Pax was confident enough she wouldn’t turn him down, then again, the probabilities were always there but luckily, they all went to his favor. “Mmm, I think I can do that, yeah.” His gaze couldn’t help to fall to her lips, catching her tongue grazing her upper lip as a smirk appeared on his own. “Can I get you another cup of wine or you want something else?” Her response to his question didn’t take long, and he couldn’t be more satisfied by it. “Oh, I have a lot of things in mind,” he said seductively, though leaving it open to her imagination, as he took a step closer to the woman. “We could go to the VIP, get more comfortable and there’s less noise. What do you say, gorgeous?” He asked. “I’m Paxton, by the way.”

Aanya couldn’t help but smirk as she watched his eyes flicker fall to her lips as she wet them. Usually she wouldn’t flirt this hard only after having one drink, but she didn’t want to think about rules or think...she just wanted to do. “I’d love another glass of wine, thanks,” she responded before teasingly biting down on her lower lip to his comment about having a lot of things in mind for what she can offer him tonight. Letting her eyes run up and down his body again, she ran her fingers down his arm as her eyes found his. Damn, the sexual tension between the two was crazy. “How about you tell me about the things you have in mind in the VIP area,” she suggested in a smooth tone, wrapping her fingers around his, pulling him to the bar for another glass of wine. “I’m Aanya. It’s quite the pleasure, Paxton,” she said, reaching the bar and letting her fingers fall from his but kept her body close.

A grateful grin was flashed to the brunette from the blond as she agreed on letting him hide with her, a sigh escaping his lips as he felt the muscles on his shoulders relax “Thank you. I just don’t know what to do with my hands with all those new dances, you know? I don’t quite get young culture” he chuckled, scratching the back of his neck. “Oh, I’ll get you two drinks, I’m that much of a great party friend. If they have snacks I’ll also get you those because I am starving” he enthused, turning to the bartender and ordering each a drink before returning her attention to the other. “It is, everyone’s having a good time, that’s nice. How about you, Aanya? Met anyone interesting today?” 

Aanya shook her head with a soft laugh from his words. “I don’t get the young culture either! I’m really trying to kind of understand it, but honestly I’m quite lost and I think I’m finally okay with it,” she replied before flashing him a grin, even reaching her hand to rest on his arm. “You don’t need to do that, Alex. I’m happy to be accompanying you just as is,” she said though he was already ordering their drinks. “I don’t need a snack right now but go ahead and eat all of the snacks you want. I’m assuming they have a snack table here anyways.” She chuckled and ran her fingers through her hair before nodding. “Yeah, I’m having a good time so far. I danced with a handsome man named Kai who I’ve met before this party and we flirted a little bit, it was fun and I think I’m going to talk to him again here pretty soon,” she said. “You can be my wingman if you want, tell every handsome man in here how incredible I am,” she teased with a grin, gently nudging him with her shoulder. “How is your love life going?”

Marisa was definitely feeling the alcohol in her system. She knew she should probably slow down unless she wanted to make a scene, but the woman chugged along, enjoying the night out she so rarely got. She pushed the empty shot glass away from her, hopping off the barstool and holding her hand out to the woman. “Well, let’s see what you got on the dance floor.” She added with a laugh.

Aanya let her eyes follow the woman, seeing her hand reaching out towards her. “Don’t worry, girl, I love to dance and I’m quite good at it,” she said with a smirk as she took her hand and followed her to the dance floor. A song with a good beat came on and as they reached the floor, the officer began to move her hips to the beat and raised her hand up as she moved. The alcohol and music flowed through her body and she grinned as she danced.

Kai recognized the woman in an instant and smiled. He’d spoken to the woman on several occasions when she’d come in for a drink. Shaking his head, he laughed, bringing the bottle to his lips again, the alcohol sliding down his throat smoothly. “Ah, then you haven’t seen me on a dance floor.” Kai teased, scratching at the back of his neck. He paused for a moment before smiling. “Well, what kind of gentleman would I be to say no?”

“I’m sure you’re a lovely dancer, Kai,” Aanya responded with a smirk. “And if you’re not, just put your hands on my waist and move to the beat with me,” she added, raising the glass to her lips and finishing her drink. “Come on then, let’s go.” Flashing him a grin, she took his hand and pulled him out onto the dance floor. Letting her hand fall from his, she ran her fingers through her hair as she began to move her hips to the beat of the music. She loved dancing and she was quite good at it and it showed through the movements of her body and smile.

Kai was wandering about the party, having been separated from Carlotta when one of her friends dragged her off towards the bar. The man truly had no desire to be there, but anything to please his blonde friend. He stopped just outside the dance floor, shaking his head. “There’s no amount of money or alcohol that could get me out there.” He commented to the figure beside him, laughing.

When Aanya heard about this party a week ago, she told people that she wouldn’t show since this wasn’t really her scene, but she found herself there with a green wristband on and a drink in her hand. She was watching people dance and she couldn’t help but move her hips along to the beat of the music. Hearing words being spoken beside her, she turned her head to see Kai. The two have met before briefly and she hoped to get to know him better tonight. “Oh come on, dancing is fun,” she responded, gently nudging her shoulder against his arm. “What if I asked you to dance? You’d still say no?” She asked, her eyebrow arching as the smile on her lips changed into a smirk.

Marisa took down another shot, flinching as the alcohol burned her throat on the way down. She tried not to drink when she had major events coming up, but Valentine’s day was a bitter day for the wrestler, and alcohol seemed pretty much the only way she’d get through the holiday. She slid the empty glass across the bar, sighing. “Wanna dance?” She asked without looking who was beside her, wanting to just get the alcohol moving through her body.

Aanya glanced over, seeing a woman beside her taking a shot and she followed the way, wanting to take a shot rather sip on a glass of hard liquor. She ordered a shot of tequila and downed it, licking her lips afterwards. She turned her head to look at the woman hearing her words. The officer wasn’t much of a dancer, but she found herself nodding. “Sure, sounds like fun. A better song must come on though,” she said with a chuckle.

“Officer Amin, you’re god-sent!” the agent exclaimed at the sight of the woman he was acquaintances with, his grin growing kinder and less anxiety-induced as he approached the brunette, hand extending to formally greet her “Can I offer to get you a drink?” he grinned, looking around before looking at the other once more “Okay, full disclosure, I kind of ran into some college friends who have been asking me to dance with them and I really don’t feel like embarassing my roomate tonight so, mind if I hide with you for a couple minutes, then I’ll leave you to go and mingle with interesting people?” he chuckled bashfully. Alexander wasn’t a club kind of person, so he already felt out of his comfort zone enough and the fact that the festivity involved prying into his personal life added a level of discomfort, alas seeing someone he trusted and enjoyed the company of was almost a miracle sent from heaven.

Aanya turned to see Alex and she couldn’t help but grin. “I am? Please, explain,” she said, taking his hand to greet him back. She was going to nod to his question but before she could do that, he was explaining to her how he was currently hiding from his college friends and she let a soft laugh escape her painted red lips. “Of course you can hide with me,” she answered with a nod and let a smirk rest on her lips. “Don’t forget that you’re also going to buy me a drink for this,” she teased before looking away from him to around the crowded party. “This is quite some party.”

Aanya took a deep breath before picking up the shot glass filled with tequila and downing it in a couple of seconds. Licking her lips and setting the glass down, she turned from the bar to look around the room full of people with different colored wrist bands. She was wearing green as she was single, but she wasn’t flaunting it as some other women were. She reached up to run her fingers through her hair when her brown hues found a fellow NYPD officer, Harry Vandenberg. She smiled and approached. “Hey, Harry. How’s it going? Enjoying the party so far?”

As the people started to gather inside the club, Pax had been eyeing the different females wearing a green bracelet: some he already knew, some other he didn’t. There was this particular woman that caught his eye, so finding the right moment, the man approached her. “Hey, you having fun?” It was a cliché way of introducing himself, but why changing what always worked? “If there’s anything I could offer to make your night better, like a drink, my company even.. Aanya turned around from the bar holding a glass of red wine in her hand to start off the night. She wasn’t originally going to come to this party, but this was a chance to meet more people and to relax from the stressors of work so why not, right? Hearing a male’s voice, her brown hues focused on the handsome man who approached her. She couldn’t help but smirk to his words. Usually she would roll her eyes and say something sassy, but she needed some fun in her life and maybe, just maybe he could help her with that. “How about you buy me a drink and keep me company?” she suggested, her smirk growing while gliding her tongue across her upper lip. “And to your first question, yes, I am having fun. If there’s anything that I can offer to make your night better, you let me know as well.”

Tatum smiled at her friend, tossing a heap of wet napkins into the trash bin, zipping her jacket up to cover the stain. “It’ll be alright, thankfully it’s not too cold outside. Harry arrested him and he’s heading down to the station now. C’mon, we’ve gotta get these papers down to the DA for their case.”

Aanya nodded to her words and got up from the table that they were sitting at. “Yes, let’s go.” She pulled her jacket on and walked out of the coffee shop with Tatum. “I hope we can get out of work earlier tonight but we’ll see what the night brings.”

Lara nodded in understanding, a soft smile playing across her lips. “After this delicious pie, I’m positive you will,” she let out a little laugh. “Oh, I’m also working. Working on something.” The blonde referred to her drawing, of course. “And waiting for someone. To see if they’ll show up.” Her bright gaze shifted to the entrance briefly before she returned it to the brunette. “And what do you do for a living, if you don’t mind me asking?”

“What are you working on, exactly?” Aanya asked with a warm smile, keeping the tone of her voice light and happy even though she was close to sounding groggy and tired from what time it was. She needed sleep but this apple pie was too good. “I hope this someone shows up soon,” she replied before running her fingers through hair and looking at the blonde. “I’m an NYPD officer. What about you?”

Marisa turned in her seat, smiling. “Hey, I don’t normally do dessert, but it looked so good, and I just got off a long flight, and I think sugar’s supposed to help jet lag?” The brunette laughed, stirring some creamer into her coffee. “What’s got you up so late?”

“We’ll say tonight that it does help with jet lag,” Aanya teased with a playful wink before turning back to her pie and taking another bite of it. She took a sip of her coffee as well before looking back to the woman she was talking to. “Both work and insomnia sadly,” she chuckled. “You said you just got off a long flight? From where?”

Eva honestly wasn’t aware anyone was talking to her at first. She thought her snake pendant necklace was still attached to her neck not laying on the ground a few feet behind her. It wasn’t until the necklace was held in front of her face did Eva take an ear bud out after realizing that she shouldn’t have neglected the faulty clasp. She immediately felt her neck for reassurance that it was her own necklace. “Oh my god I would have missed that terribly! Thank you!” If someone had taken that and walked off with it… “Yes it’s mine. It needs a new clasp, and I just thought it would be fine. I guess gravity decided to teach me a lesson." 

Aanya smiled when the woman recognized that it was her necklace and handed it to her. “You are very welcome,” she replied with a smile. “I’m glad I returned it to the right person,” she added before shrugging. “Life is funny that way,” she half teased.

“You know your stuff.” The man grinned, placing the liquor bottle back on the shelf. “I have plenty of questions, I’m a history teacher. Apparently my students don’t pay as much attention as I thought they did.”

“I would be ashamed of myself if I didn’t know that answer,” Aanya half teased with a soft laugh before lifting the glass to her lips and downing the shot. Licking her lips, she smiled at the handsome bartender in front of her. “I think that’s great that you’re a history teacher. There aren’t a lot of handsome history teachers out there in the world like yourself,” she happily flirted.

Letting her drink sit on the table entirely ignored for a good half an hour, Nora used her eyes to scan the room in front of her, not unlike she usually did when out in the evening. Some people thought it was because she was prowling for a significant other which got her called a cougar a lot more than not, but the real reason ran much deeper, not that she shared it with most. Instead the woman liked to be fully aware of her surroundings at all times even when it was somewhere as familiar as a nightclub she personally handled the PR for. Eyes flicking from left to right she caught the gaze of someone else without bothering to smile, instead just moving her head a little to the left. She was trying to work out in the dim lighting if it was someone she recognised the rest of her body frozen and poised in fight or flight mode.  @cityofdreamsstarters​

Aanya thanked the bartender for her drink after it being handed to her and she leaned back against the empty bar seat and looked around. Raising the glass of whiskey to her lips, she took a sip and noticed that she made eye contact with a woman who looked like she was either really bored or was just in her own world. She gave her a warm smile, but didn’t get one in return so she approached her. “I can’t help but ask, but are you doing alright?” She always asked this to anybody looking lost or especially in need of help as she wanted to help.

Aanya was walking down the streets of Soho, Manhattan. It was her day off of work and she wanted to explore. As she walked, she spotted a necklace on the ground and bent down to pick it up. It was beautiful. Her brown eyes searched for anyone who could’ve dropped this and her eyes locked on a woman with green hair. Approaching, she raised the necklace that was wrapped in her fingers. “Hi there, is this yours?” She asked when she got close enough. “I saw it on the ground and I couldn’t leave it there, it’s too beautiful.”
